  1. I had my surgery on June 7,2016 day of surgery weight was 235 starting weight was 252, today I'm at 196 and went from a size 20 to a size 13 !! I'm so excited , I have a lot more energy now, I haven't been in this size since I was 18. I still have ways to go to get to my goal weight, but I'm happy with how far I have come. It's been tough, but worth it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had to follow a 6 week diet plan set by my surgeon. First week was liquid, followed by two weeks Puree, two weeks semi solid then regular consistency foods.. No eggs till after eight weeks. But lots of Protein, Beans and spinach lol chicken breast and I love eggplant I use it when I want Pasta or pizza I just use that instead, as the crust or the pasta substitute. Love bananas with lactate milk became lactose intolerant... Or Peanut Butter and banana. @@Tami_Lynn Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@kimberb , thank you ! I haven't seen anything happen to my tattoos as far as stretching or anything like that. As for the surgery it's been a challenge but well worth it! This is by far one of the hardest journeys I have taken. Good luck! You can do it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Suggestions please

Everyone's active levels are different not everyone runs and is as active as they should be to eat 7 times a day. I was told by my nutritionist and surgeon that you shouldn't snack. I got my surgery on June 7th of this year and I'm down 35 pounds since then, and 52 since March. I only stated what worked for me and what my surgeon suggested in my plan. Every persons body is different and what works for one may not work for another. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Suggestions please

It's not just about what you eat, it's about your activity levels. You also need at least 20 grams of Protein per meal to be able to lose weight or you stall. Space your meals apart with this surgery I don't get hungry much but I do eat, I try to have my three meals no snacking every 4-6 hours and do a lot of walking. Acid reflex

Oh my goodness.... I'm 17 days post op and this morning I woke up choking because of acid reflex. It was so bad! I couldn't breath. Scared me! I took some Pepcid I was prescribed not realizing I was supposed to have been taking this all along twice a day to prevent this from happening! Let me just say.... Lesson learned! It's scary to wake up choking from acid in your esophagus!! Any tips on how to get rid of this fast should it happen again? Would appreciate feedback from post op patients that have experienced this journey. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I meant to say 4 th week Post Op

Isopure has different flavored Protein waters, maybe that will sit better with you chilled... Worth a try, and try walking, nothing like cardio for weight loss especially after VSG or any wls. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. I started this journey back in March at 252 pounds and was given a goal weight of 238 pounds. I had my surgery yesterday after hitting my goal weight back in May and yesterday I weighed in at 235 pounds. Let me just say that the first twelve hours after surgery make you regret getting it, I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die!! But then I started walking and using my gasX strips and it helped so much! Today I'll be getting discharged and I'm afraid of getting dehydrated because at home I won't have my IV keeping me hydrated, so wish me luck!! Lol I got so sick after my surgery with vomiting and pain that I felt like I was having a heart attack or something... Gas is a killer let me tell you !! But today I get in and out of bed walk the halls and go to the restroom alone, I'm able to drink broth and Water still nothing sweet but I'm sure eventually I will. And the Journey begins !

So it's a week and a day since my surgery. I'm feeling pretty good. Since This journey started back in March I'm down 30 pounds!! Tomorrow is my first post op appointment and I can't wait for my weigh in. I do have a difficult time getting in 32oz of liquid a day so not quite at 64oz where I'm supposed to be. But not feeling sick. I have however had some back pain in my flanks so my kidneys may not liking this. Pain isn't an issue yesterday I did take some medicine for pain in my back, but I'm actually doing pretty good without. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Protein meal replacement

I just warmed up my protein shake, as for water it has to be slightly cooler than room temperature not too hot not too cold or it comes right back out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. So tomorrow morning at 5:45am I will be having my VSG and I'm so nervous I have so many feelings right now it's almost like I'm second guessing this. My mother and a good friend had a gastric bypass last year and are doing great but now it's my turn. When I started this journey back in March I was 252 pounds I hit my goal weight of 238 in May and last time I was weighed I was at 234, it's been a challenge. I have a very active 14 year old daughter that loves to workout and I can't keep up with her. Hope that I can once again be as active without pain as I used to. Wish me luck and any post op feedback is appreciated!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
