  4. This is hard to believe in even CONSIDERING surgery, let alone have my consultation Thursday. I just want to be skinny so bad. When I was 14, my mom said if I can ever fit into a size 2, she will buy me a new wardrobe. Now, 295 pounds (ish) and a size 22, it might actually be a reality. I just want it to happen. I don't have to do anything for the surgeon or insurance except get a psych evaluation. I'm hoping I can have the surgery by July 1, but since that's in like 5 weeks... I doubt it. I don't plan to tell anyone except my mom and husband. Idk what to do at this point, I'm driving myself crazy with researching and anticipating. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I asked this question yesterday Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I have BCBSIL and they only require a psych evaluation (no 6 month diet or anything). I'm meeting my surgeon next Thursday, May 26th and hopefully I will schedule my evaluation at that time too. I'm starting a new job July 1 and was hoping to have the surgery done before I start so I don't have to take time off right away. I will have vacation time after 6 months (i think) but I don't want to have to use it when I'm new. I also don't want to have to tell my boss - it's a very small office. Me, boss and one other. Have any of you has the process take two weeks or less from consultation to surgery? I have open availability so making an appointment with a psych shouldn't be too hard. 7. I've heard mixed reviews! I hoping to only take off 2-3 days and have it go over the weekend so I get 4-5 days Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. I don't want to tell anyone really about my surgery. I'm still pre-op. When people either find out I was in the hospital or had surgery, what kind of surgery would leave similar scars? Or what kind of abdomen surgery can you have? Sorry if this is dumb... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. How do you take the pain meds (or any pills) after surgery? I've been reading that you can't drink much and definitely not gulp. Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I can't really see any doctor saying "yes, do digs and drink after surgery"... Or at all. I think asking here or any other forum is the best way to get answers Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I've been doing a lot of research, but I feel like I'll miss something. I thought I had to do the seminar when I was considering WLS years ago, but when I called to make an appointment, she didn't say I had to Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I'm going to the surgeon for the first time on 5/31. I haven't been to a seminar or anything yet. I have called my insurance to find out what they cover. What kind of questions should I ask about the surgery? Is anyone else at the same place of this process as I am? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I'm REALLY concerned about the pain in the pre-op (iv, endoscopy) and mostly the post-op pain such as incisions, walking, twisting to get up, gas, deep breathing, going to the bathroom, twisting back to wipe (sorry), putting on pants, moving from bed to bed at the hospital, getting in and out of the car, any pulling of the scars. I'm sure I'm missing stuff. Can anyone calm me down about the pain? I know it'll be worth it, but I'm needing personal success stories! (I know I can ask my doctors, but I'd prefer to hear from experience) THANKS IN ADVANCE! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. I have pcos and its VERY hard to lose weight. I'm afraid I won't be able to lose much, if any, weight during this pre-op diet. Is it a requirement? They have it on record already that I've been trying to lose weight and have been unsuccessful for years. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
