You can sustain some minor damage when you're intubated during the surgery. The best thing to do is to work back up to your old range carefully and methodically, and to ensure that you warm up and warm down appropriately.
The more miraculous claims one makes of a substance, the less likely that it is effective at all. (c.f. apple cider vinegar, snake oil, etc., etc., etc.)

My surgery is scheduled for a few days after Thanksgiving, and this year the idea of a day of gluttony is really unappealing.
I don't care for turkey, but I'll have just a few ounces and then continue to eat what's on my plan.

I've decided on a nice Chinese chicken salad... junk's no longer appealing, and I know it'll be months before I can have a salad again.

I'm 2 weeks pre-op and I understand... thankfully my work is basically done for the month so I can putter around 8 hours a day, and Ambien is a lifesaver for nights when the brain doesn't want to shut down.

My pre-op diet is clear liq uids, specifically wate r, brot h, and sugar-free jell o.
Hot chocolat e is not on the list.

I just asked my sister (who has had a bypass) what she thought of this post, and her response was "Grab her by the hair and slam her face into a car door."
I guess I never realized how competitive my sisters were when I was growing up, sheesh! That what I get for being the baby...
It's always amusing when the apparent definition of Troll amounts to "someone whose opinion is different than mine, and therefore the ability to express that opinion must be stopped!"
Lady, you must be new to the Internet; there's no one here even close to being anything like a Troll. I can point you to other sites full of actual trolls if you like...

The system is designed for two parties, and the only persons that can change that setup are those two parties. They have absolutely no incentive to change the status quo.
Ever since I stopped drinking Diet Coke earlier this year, there's no appeal to candy. It doesn't even register as a foo d, so it's really easy to ignore.
Some of us adults respect the opinions of our loved ones. Having support is a lot easier then not having it at all. You don't need to be rude.

I don't think it's rude to point out that adults should make their own decisions about their body, and be mature enough to ignore the ignorant opinions of their unsupportive family members and acquaintances.

Not sure why so many people on here are so beholden to what their families think. You're purportedly an adult; act like it!
