  1. I live in Eagle River and would love to have some local folks to talk to.
  2. Does anyone out there vomit slime often post surgery? When I vomit, its not food, its more like slime or snot. Very frustrating, and it happens pretty often. I take 30mg Pepcid (disolvable) in the AM and I wonder if that's the culprit, but if I don't take it I have heartburn issues.
  3. I had to travel on business 10 days post surgery for 2 weeks. Be aware air travel can cause swelling and dehydration. Plan ahead. Have a wonderful time!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I may have to have a procedure due to some narrowing. What's the difference between a dilation and a stent? Recovery time?
  5. I had my sleeve and a small hiatal hernia repair on 4/22. The first 2 weeks went alright, but the last week has been terrible. I haven't been able to eat for a week without throwing up. I was seriously dehydrated and had two bags Fluid infusion today. When I got home, I took an anti-nausea pill and promptly threw it up. Two hours later I threw up the apple juice I drank today AND the quarter of a nectarine I mashed 24 hours ago. I think there's something wrong, I have pain on my right side at the HH level and I don't think food is getting through. Has anyone else had this problem? My surgeon and his staff are so busy and its hard to get a conversation with them. I think its time to demand something, but I don't know what?!
  6. @@pik What did you end up doing?

    So scared with this stricture

How did this turn out for you? It sounds like it was horrible.
  8. I would like to hear the rest of the story here! I had my surgery 4/22 and was fine until about 2-1/2 weeks when I started throwing up. I had an upper GI yesterday and my small hiatal hernia repair is swollen and I have a narrowing in my stomach, but the barium was getting through. I'm back on liquids for a week or two to see if it resolves on its own, and if not we'll discuss having a "stent" procedure. I'd really like to here how your situations turned out. Thanks so much!
  9. @@miterin62 Thanks for the advice, had the upper GI test this morning, it was a barium X-ray and really hard cause I throw up so easily. They found two things. 1. The hiatal hernia repair is swollen, probably from the vomiting that started a week ago. 2. I have a probable stricture in my stomach. He said to go back on liquids for a week. I'll have infusion again on Friday to get hydration and Vitamins. If the swelling doesn't go down I'll have a "stent" procedure (which is a tube they put down to stretch the tightened spaces). Yippie! (Sarcasm) I'm just glad to know it wasn't cause I'm a baby or just in my head. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. @@miterin62 I'm so sorry you are going through this too! Why are they waiting so long to do your procedure? Did they say anything to you about the sleeve making acid reflux worse? Thank you for sharing your story with me, it really helped; I was getting depressed and feeling alone. My doctor scheduled an upper GI for tomorrow morning. I literally haven't eaten for a week. I was so dehydrated I was confused and it took 6 pokes to get the blood for the tests and the IV infusion yesterday. The first 2-1/2 weeks were alright, but I had acid reflux; my prevacid caused foam in my stomach and I would throw up if I took it. Dr called in a different dosage but the pharmacy didn't have it in stock yesterday. Please keep me posted on your situation. My name is Becky
  11. I'm 3 weeks post op. I have trouble swallowing anything, but mostly miss refreshing drinks of Water. I have pain from, I think, my haital hernia repair. I'm supposed to be on pureed or liquids, but just can't get them down. Today I tried Protein drink, applesauce, and some saltine crackers; the drink and applesauce was probably only an ounce each. I have the pain and heartburn as well. I was on a trip and my prevacid was causing foam and vomiting. Just feeling weak, listless. Advice please. Rolaids works a little.
  12. I'm 2.5 weeks out. I had a sleeve and small haital hernia repair. I travel for work and felt good enough to travel at day 10, but taking things slowly. I'm still on the road, but having more and more pain when I try to eat OR drink. My pain is on the right chest and searing. I ate 1 TBSP of oatmeal for Breakfast yesterday and sipping apple juice seemed to work so I did that all day. Water, or any liquid causes me to burp no matter how small the sip. By the time I got to the hotel last night I was really hungry and had some broth. The pain was intense and I threw up 3 times. After the last one, I was empty and the pain diminished. I slept 12 hours. I have a call in again to my surgeon (I missed his call-back 2 nights ago) and hopefully I'll hear something. I was very close to going to the ER last night. I'm pretty sure my problem is from the last minute hiatal hernia repair and not the sleeve. (I didn't have time to research it and just thought it was a routine thing, but know differently now) Anyone out there have right side chest pain? Trouble drinking or eating? Lots of burping, gurgling?
  13. I'm sorry for both of us! I hope someone will have some answers, or maybe when my surgeon calls back.
