That's good I didn't start getting serious about my work out until week 3 or so. I was told to make sure the Protein shakes are less than 160 calories per serving. Idk if that helps I drink the Premier Protein Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

Ok so I started the process on January 26. Had my first EGD done and then started my pre op diet so I would be ready after the results came in. The week before my surgery my results came back with some disorder that I could not have the surgery. I was insistent that something could be done. So I was put on high dose nexium for 30 days and then a second EGD was done. It showed I was healing so I was cleared! The whole time I stayed on a kind of diet so I could avoid stomach acid flare up. Finally I got a date but it was still 3 weeks away. But I stuck to it. And when the surgery date came my surgeon Had not seen me in almost 90 days. When he saw I lost 30 pounds on my own he said I would be great after surgery. It has been a bitch but I have lost 70 pounds total.
    Starting weight 372
    Surgery date 4/25/16
    Weight 339
    Today 6/25/16 weight 302
I am 8 weeks post op. So I still weigh my food. Drink my Protein. Don't eat 30 before or after.

You are not alone! I lost 17lbs in the first two weeks and then week 3 and 4 a total of 3lbs. I was so stressed I thought my scale was broken so I went out and bought a new one. It's really hard to not compare our progress to other people but I think we just have to be patient. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

You think 17 lbs in two weeks is barely losing? What were you expecting?
Couple pieces of advice looking forward:
--you are very likely about to hit a stall that will last a couple of weeks. Stay off the scale if that will upset you.
--30+ lbs per month (which is what you would be at if your rate of loss stayed the same) is almost unheard of, especially for women. So you should expect your long-term rate of weight loss to slow down significantly. If it doesn't, you can be pleasantly surprised, but in no way should you expect to keep losing at the incredibly fast rate you are losing right now. Enjoy it while you can.
--don't look to compare your rate of weight loss to other people's. I know it is tempting but it never ends well. "Comparison is the thief of joy" -- Teddy Roosevelt. Though to be honest I have never heard of a woman losing as fast as you are post op so maybe it would make you happy!

Every day has been a struggle with just being. I live alone and so I've been home alone pretty much since I got home from the hospital. I'm pretty certain I'm not getting in enough fluids. Every time I have a Protein Shake I get diarrhea. I haven't had the energy to go to the store to try something else. Walmart sell a liquid form of extra strength Tylenol. Thanks for sharing I felt like I was taking too much while everyone else was ok a few days out. I started my day with just Tylenol today mostly because I need to get out and about. Sadly not able to make it very far I was so tired after a trip to the post office. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App

My RNY Bypass was May 10th and thought I would let everyone know how it went. Surgery was at 12:30 in the afternoon and I was released from hospital by 2:00 the next afternoon. I did a lot of walking the halls soon after surgery and I really think that helped. I actually felt better walking than I did sitting. I had no nausea or vomiting whatsoever and still have not. I used pain meds for a couple days. After that the pain was bearable. Mainly gas pains and walking definitely helps with that. I have had no trouble getting all my Water in, but I do sip all day long. The hardest part has been keeping on the schedule of meds, food, Protein Drinks and liquids. Took me a bit to get my meds straight and figure out the best schedule for me. I'll be glad when I can stop some of the meds.
Honestly - I can't believe how well I have done. I feel great, walking the neighborhood. Going to the drug store today to pick up some things, my first venture out alone. I am thankful for my amazing talented surgeon!
Don't be afraid, it's never as bad as you think it might be. For me, it wasn't bad at all.
Hope you all have great results!!
