About Me

  • Gender
    Male
  1. I had my sleeve surgery in WA. state the morning of May 16, 2016 and so far I've had a very smooth experience. I'm down 31 lbs. since surgery and 60 lbs. from my highest weight. I do exercise daily with an hour of Water aerobics and 20 minutes of walking. I am able to meet an average of 70-80 grams of protein/day and very restricted carbs. My NUT wants me to eliminate the fruit smoothies I have for Breakfast, which she calls slider foods, and to use more food items that are not processed through a Ninja which breaks down the Fiber. I do have a few cups of caffeinated coffee every morning and she would like me to just have one cup. Overall, this has been a very positive experience and now to continue to lose another 85 lbs. or so. Paul
  2. Right now, 3 weeks after VSG, I get so full on so little food that I'm wondering how this is going to change. I know this is a good thing now, but at some point in the future I would like to be able to eat a full hot dog and bun with condiments, one of my favorite foods.

    Question about my esophagus

During surgery, your esophagus was invaded by two breathing tubes and a bougie or Ewald tube between 35-40mm for some period of time. Those tubes give rise to your sore throat after surgery and interfere with swallowing and may cause some swelling. It should pass quickly, hopefully very soon.
  4. Thanks Ann. I'm very happy for you and look forward to joining the 100 pounds + group.
  5. Hello to all, I'm 73 and had gastric sleeve surgery on Monday, May 16, 2016, spent two nights in the hospital, and now am home. I'm feeling good so far and have been walking a lot. I now look forward to continued weight loss and better health. Paul
