I would seek out some counseling. I am one month out, no cravings, following my plan strictly. I'm down 42 pounds since I started the pre-op diet on 5/22 (surgery was 6/6). I want this to work more than I want anything I could put in my mouth. I would really strongly encourage you to get some counseling.

I wish I understood the depth of life change this has been. Probably would have still done it, but it's taking a while to realize food will never have the same meaning again.

I trick myself by getting into an audio book I really like. But I don't let myself listen to it unless I am exercising. It seems to jump start things. I'm an odd duck on this though, but give me a good Tom Clancy novel and I am going to walk/run/lift for an hour or more.

I remember before my surgery thinking how I didn't care what I looked like, I was going to love my body because I would be so much thinner. HAHA 7 months post-op and that's not the case. I used to love my breasts. Even though they hung down, they looked awesome in a bra and they were just great. Well not they are literally just flat sacks of skin (and i'm only 1/2 way through my weight loss!) So literally the one part of my body that made me feel sexy and that I loved, I am embarrassed by bcecause they don't even look that great in a good bra anymore.
Having said that though, I am finding other parts of my body that I am taking a second look at and going- hey that/those are pretty sexy, I like those! (Like the way my legs/thighs look in a skirt now for example).
I have been single for 3 years and am so ready to start dating again. I am feeling AMAZING after surgery already- I am still me, but i am a completely different person in a lot of ways as well.
I find a lot of men who are into me on dating sites because I work out- but I feel like they associate work out as a nice way of saying, "someone who is thin and always has been thin". I feel like it's misleading when someone just thinks I am super hot curvy girl- and then to see my without clothes on- the scars from surgery don't bother me, it's that I have a LOT of saggy skin. i mean it feels cold and kind of neat to touch- but how do you prepare someone for seeing that? Do you tell them RIGHT before you jump into bed? Do you tell them on a 3rd or 4th date? Do you never say anything? Do you put it out on the table before the first date?
    LOL I probably didn't help did I?

    Ok...
    Have laptop, will share...
I'm not sure if what I say is what you were getting at but it kinda fits with your post..
I'd also like to preface this with the following -
What I'm about to say is simply my opinion...
I'd not be so bold as to assume I was speaking on behalf of all men...
    My opinion...
    Mine!!
As a guy, there's a better than average chance that I'd not really notice your (anyone's) scars..
No, not because I'd be distracted by various other naked parts (tho that'd help)..
But I'd not notice for a different reason...
As I was discussing a few days ago with someone VERY special, when I'm looking at someone who I'm attracted to, I don't notice their (self-perceived) 'faults'...
You've a 'crease' above your eye when you smile? - I didn't see it. I was looking at your eyes...
You've a dimple that sometimes shows up and sometimes doesn't? - I didn't notice. I was focused on the way your smile lights up everything around it...
You've a few little scars on your belly? - I had no idea. I was admiring your feminine curves and wondering why you weren't kis...
    Well...
    You get the idea...
In my opinion, it's a female thing to notice such things in yourself, as well as in others...
It's not necessarily a bad thing..
    It's just a thing...
I certainly don't mean this in a nasty, sexist way..
I just mean that we're different, guys and girls..
As a guy, I notice the parts of 'you' that I like..
As a girl, you notice the parts of yourself that you don't like...
So ultimately, I'd not worry about what to say..
Chances are, it will never really be an issue...
If it does get asked, have a cool story planned - Pirate knife fight, shark attack, mongoose invasion.. That kinda thing..
Guys like a scar with a cool story...
Good luck to you and your 'somebody new'...
***I told you it'd be worth waiting for!!!

I don't know. You didn't provide any context or details.
    What was your starting weight?
    Current weight?
    What is your goal weight?
What does your food look like?
    Are you tracking your food?
Are you getting in all of your Protein?
Are you getting at least 64 oz of Fluid every day?
Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed?
Are you avoiding starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods?
    Are you exercising?
Have you talked to your NUT about your concerns?

the sleeved plastic surgeon reacted to chavezmommy in Advice - wish I'd followed
I had the sleeve on 1/29/16. I don't regret my decision one bit but I want to advise you on things I'd wish I'd followed:
    1. Get your daily Doctor recommend Protein in however you can. And Take the Vitamins. I'm 4 months post op and have started losing lots of hair at the root!! Yikes!!! I couldn't stomach the vitamins the first few weeks and barely started getting in the protein 1 month ago because I was not at all hungry. Drink the Protein drinks with the most protein i.e. Premiere Protein Drinks, powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury
    2. Exercise - even if it's the elliptical or walking 10 min a day to start. It will break your plateaus.
    3. Energy - I was exhausted the first 2 months post op. Healing and eating so little exhausts you. I started to feel incredible energy gains about 3 months post op. I've started Orange theory (1 hour each) workouts and I can do the whole session albeit awkward and slow but I can do it!!!
    Good luck on your journey!!

I found a free app called "Time Your Bites". You can set the amount of seconds between bites and have your phone buzz or make a noise when it is time for another bite. This app has helped me slow down considerably.

    Excellent point.
You just nailed down something that I've missed. I can't thank you enough.
I've been stressed the hell out at work.....and somewhat at home. I have near constant noise and distractions and have been "getting mine" in time of turbulence. I choke it down or worse.....Graze Under Pressure. Bad, bad juju.
I vow to you and all at BP that I will forevermore make my meals a time out from whatever is going on.....whatever noise is happening around me.......make them moments of peace and free from outside stimulations. My moments. I'll take my time and savor the flavors.....and chew my meals happily into a purred state. Gonna adopt this practice immediately.
My prediction is that I'll now control the time, place and setting of my meals. I'll equate them with relaxation and a true break from stress. I'll slow my roll when chewing.
    This begins NOW !!!!!

    I'm almost as your measurements
    I'm 5' 2.5" and I weight 211# my BMI is 38
    I'm a stress and a sweets eater
I'm a plastic surgeon and my figure is very important for me and my clients
I hv been obeese my whole life
This year I got hypertension and knee pain and decided that enough is enough
My surgeon who is a colleague recommended mini gastric bypass obviously bcs I'm a sweet and stress eater
But I totally refused it I'm a surgeon and I know that is it a malanatomical procedure and I can't handle malabsorption syndrome or dumping syndrome!! My friend had 3 car accidents due to damping syndrome and almost died
So I promised myself and him that I will control myself post op and I hope I can control the cravings after I start loosing weight and seeing results
