  1. Waiting to schedule my sleeve to bypass too. I’m almost 2years out. Been struggling with reflux since surgery. Dr found significant stricture (1cm marshmallow couldn’t pass through)...
  2. I developed a sensitivity to whey protein after surgery. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  3. @@lala2you - I sent you a message HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  4. I had inflammation in my stomach too. It turned out to be h pylori & apparently I had an ulcer at some point in the past. The h pylori treatment protocol delayed my surgery by a few months, but I was very relieved to get it treated (it can cause stomach cancer!) HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  5. My surgical team gave me an anti nausea patch behind my ear pre op. It stayed on until I got home. I woke up groggy but only mildly sore - like too many crunches. I never had any gas pain. But the pain PCA dilaudid made me super groggy. For me it was the next morning when I tried a lick of yogurt that was difficult. I had esophageal and sleeve spasms if the Water was too cold or too big a sip. For the most part it was a much easier post op recovery than I expected. I am six months today. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  6. I drink an occasional soda (*maybe* 1 every 2weeks) I sip very slowly & burp A LOT! HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  7. I was given yogurt & cream of wheat in the hospital the morning after my surgery. I figured out after 1/2 a bite that I wasn't gonna like eating for a while. I learned pretty quickly when my body wasn't ready for something that I better listen. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  8. I followed my surgeons plan... but it allowed me to have purée as tolerated immediately after surgery. I sure didn't slurp more than a bite at a time. I took it slow and some days didn't feel like having purée anything, but it was nice knowing I was allowed if I wanted to. I was careful with what I had and did not have any complications. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  9. I use Bio Oil on my scars. They're faded to almost nothing. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  10. I'm about 5 mo out. Mine gurgles still. It's not hunger. Sometimes it's acid. And I can feel when my sleeve empties out- it gurgles like a bathtub emptying out! HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  11. Relax. Keep doing what you're supposed to do. Stalls happen. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  12. My surgeon said that the Vegas nerve lays near the stomach. It gets aggravated easily in the first few weeks. Hiccups were very common for me in the first few weeks, even now at almost 5 months I get them frequently. Usually if I have eaten too much though. (I didn't have any hernia repair) HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  13. Do you have access to a glucometer to check your blood sugar when it happens? HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  14. Did they talk to you about sleeve versus RNY? My surgeon said the RNY cured diabetes. I'm not diabetic so I chose sleeve. Just wondering what your dr said about it HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  15. I agree about the PPI. When I forget mine for more than a day or two, I crave sweets HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  16. I was told DO NOT stock up on my favorite Protein shakes because my tastes might change. I didn't listen- then developed a strong intolerance to whey protein. Oops. Still have a basket of Protein Shakes & powders in my kitchen that I cannot use! Bummer HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  17. I have restless leg, it sometimes aches something fierce. When my calves start to hurt (maybe 1x every 4-6 weeks) I usually drink a 32oz Gatorade. It helps me....and since I can't drink the G2, the sugar in the regular one encourages a "pooping day" Win-win! HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  18. I live in Washington, but just spent three weeks in Maui. Three gloriously warm weeks! Although I did have a few times here and there in the evening when I would get cold, it was the warmest I have been since surgery.… But I had to come home to Washington. We're supposed to get snow tomorrow, I'm terrified of how cold I will be HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  19. I started at UW in February, testing in march, had to wait 3 months for h pylori treatment, then submitted in June, surgery July 27. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  20. Once UW sent the request for approval, it was approved in under a week. I had surgery about 6 weeks later (first available on the schedule) HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  21. I have Molina and had my surgery through UW 7/27/16. I had a very good experience with them and with the surgery. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  22. You are what, less than two months out? I had a hard time eating any kind of meats when I was only two months out. It does get better, my NUT told me to use a lot of gravy or condiments. You need to make sure the meat is very tender. Sometimes we just have to wait a few more weeks before our stomach will accept it- even if it was ok last time. I stuck with thin sliced lunch meats for a while before moving on to denser Proteins. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  23. Not every employer plan excluded Bariatric surgery. One of my friends that is just starting the process has it covered through her husband's work insurance. Employers can separately choose to exclude it from the coverage they offer you. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
  24. A friend of mine had a policy that did not cover W LS so she changed insurance policies. She's willing to pay a little more in co-pays to have insurance that covers what she needs. HW - 283 SW- 238 CW- ?
