    Cravings

So after the sleeve do your cravings subside? are they more mental cravings? I need to be prepared here and if there is anything sweet in the house I will think non stop about it. Always best to keep it out. I want to be successful and cravings or hunger is bad now. Sleeve is happening in the fall. I know I have taken Phen Phen and it curbed my cravings. Really hoping for the same results.

    Surgery without telling anyone?

  12. Just was asking, I'm 5 months away and maintain 1200 to 1400 call diet range. My doctor requires two weeks only clear liquids that's why I asked just seems like you'd be very hungry Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
  13. I still have 5 months left of supervised diet. I worry about the 2 week pre op liquid diet, why can't the give appetite suppressants? Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

  15. I have Anthem and started the 6 month supervised diet but was told to maintain. Frustrating to me because I want to get started losing weight but my BMI is 35 and I cannot go below that. Thankfully they weighed me with a ortho boot so I have 5 lb to play with in case something happens to tip the scales over...I would just go without the boot and if I drop below...wear the boot.

Why do people bash weight loss surgery?

For this very reasons this is why I prefer to keep my choice to myself. If anyone has not been struggling a lifetime, they will not understand. It is a different struggle than someone who merely put on weight after being slim during their life. I have dealt with weight since I was 6 months old. Unfortunately overfed as a kid, poor genetics and how I was raised set me up for a major struggle. To that point I think WLS will be a tool but I anticipate I will still struggle. It will hopefully take away the hunger part which can make it more doable for me.
  17. I really would like to keep my surgery private and only include my husband and daughter. I'm not wanting to tell mom and others. How do you handle this and family functions? My mom lives to eat. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

  21. Sitting feeling my first round of appointments sad my counselor appointment passed with flying colors she told me I was more prepared for this than most patients but I do have to go through a 6 month diet plan before insurance will approve me very exciting Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
  22. I just started the process at Bailey and have my first appointments Friday. Insurance requires 6 months supervised diet. I'm concerned because my BMI is 36, if I drop below 35 I do not qualify. I have always gone up and down in weight over the years. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
  23. I used it years ago, lost 80 lb. Worked out like mad, 2 hours a day to maintain my weight at 150. I was only given 3 months worth, as soon as I stopped I maintained a 1000 calorie diet (horrible metabolism) I had to work really hard and strict exercise to keep weight down. I had some foot issues complicated by walking so much that my work outside slowed down, appetite increased. ..now up to 232. Everyone's body reacts differently though and so I think you have to find what works for you. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

Where in Oklahoma was your surgeries? Curious on Drs Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
  25. I guess I dislike the mindset that this decision is the easy way out. I've lost 80 lb by diet pills, eating 1000 calories, then weight lifting 45 min a day and walking 4 to 8 miles a day in addition to my daily steps. Working out 2 hours a day 5 days a week is not sustainable. Over 10 years it crept up. I've been to many Dr's and am told my Hashimoto's and genetics makes weight stubborn. I don't think this is the easy way out by any means though. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
