I don't know your situations but agree with @KindaFamiliar. Don't give up hope. A couple of possible options I can think of......If possible change your insurance to one of the Market Place policies that cover the surgery.......this option, however may end up costing you as much as it would cost to go to Mexico to have the surgery.....So that's the second option I can think of, I've seen several folks who have their surgery in Mexico for around $5000...... When I first started hearing about folks going to Mexico for surgery by first thought was "no way!!!"......However, after doing a little research and watching some informational videos I think if it was not a covered service under my insurance that going to Mexico would be a serious consideration for me.
Good luck to you no matter what you decide is your next step.....but don't give up!

I had 3 children after my surgery. I had my surgery in 1996 Those were the days of opening you up no laparoscopy in those days. They kept me in the hospital an entire week. I found out I was pregnant made an appointment with my surgeon he chuckled and said be sure to take your Vitamins.
That baby was born in 1998, she is 17 I was 39.
My next baby was born in 2000, she is 15, I was 41.
My last baby was born in 2002, she is 13 now, I was 43.
All my girls were born healthy full term. I ate carefully. After my surgery I became lactose intolerance so I had to work harder to find dairy products I could eat. I can have small amounts of yogurt, cottage cheese and couple different types of cheese.
My pregnancies after my WLS were a walk in the park compared to before my WLS. Just so you understand the how resilient your body is I had six children before. So after WLS it brought the number of my brood to 9 children. And I am still married to their father, we have been married 30 years this June. If anyone wants to know more about this feel free to message me or I will try to answer any questions posted in comments.

I have someone in my Family who had great success with a baby about year year and a half after her bypass surgery. She always wanted a baby adopted her brothers daughter and thought, well that's it. Nope after she went from about 400 lbs down to 225 BAM!! It happened.

I can offer no 'advice' as I'm not familiar with the processes for your country...
What I will so tho, is this -
    Don't give up...
If this is truly the course of action that you need to take, don't give up...
Again, I've no suggestions as to what your next step(s) should, or even could, be...
But the second you lose hope is the second that this whole thing becomes too much...
I genuinely wish you nothing but the best,,
I hope that thru here, or elsewhere, you come across some information that can assist you in getting where you need to be..
As always, please keep us updated as to where things are at for you...
    And take care...

I was told it was safe to have children after WLS and it's advised to wait 2 years. WLS does increase fertility so you need to be careful not to get pregnant before it's best. Learn all you can before deciding - it's a major life change. Good luck!

Absolutely. With weight loss surgery PCOS usually clears right up and any other weight related infertility issues go away. My dr actually recommended getting a backup birth control for the first year post op since your body becomes fertile pretty quickly but before the one year (or some say 18 months) mark it would be risky to be pregnant
there is a whole sub board on this site devoted to pregnancy after surgery that you might find helpful

It is absolutely safe to get pregnant post-WLS so long as you wait a good 1-2 years. As others have said, you need to be careful about getting pregnant TOO quickly, since you will likely have increased fertility pretty early on. You want to be sure you aren't pregnant before you are fully healed up and able to get proper nutrition. So it's best to wait at least a year.
As for actual pregnancy, I have read that pregnancy needs trump WLS needs. So you would want to switch to a prenatal Vitamin from your bariatric Multivitamin.

No complications but I slept almost the entire time in the hospital. I didn't get out of bed to walk until day 2. I was really sensitive to the anesthesia.
I have No regrets! I hit the 150s yesterday!! 56 lbs gone and I couldn't be happier

Nine months out and no complications. It's not easy, but the many advances you feel, both in weight loss and in life, make the difficulty worth it. You'll develop a new relationship with food and with yourself that takes some getting used to, but you get there. All in all, totally worth it and my only regret is that I did not do this sooner.

It may not seem like a big deal, but this week I stopped in at Target and bought a bathing suit top off the rack. I didn't try it on but I got one size smaller than the one I have been wearing. Today, when I got to the pool I tried it on and actually looked at myself, in my bathing suit, in front of a full length mirror. The suit fit, and I looked pretty good all things considered.

Mine wasn't diagnosed, but I definitely had it and don't now. I snored so loud my family could hear me downstairs with the doors closed, and I would wake up choking and with a pounding head most mornings. Since surgery though, I don't snore anymore. Even my husband can't believe how quiet I am now. I don't wake up choking anymore either. I really used to go to sleep each night afraid my kids would find me dead in my bed in the morning. So there is definitely hope that you can be "cured" after surgery. It probably won't be as fast as the day/week you go home, but a few months out, you might be!

Wow, I am so sorry. I would actually not say anything to her. Possibly document, time date and place and what she says and then take to HR or Ethics. I agree with others - that type of behavior belongs in Jr. High! I know that we end up working with a wide variety of people at work but this one "takes the cake." My suggestion would be to take the high road and if necessary document so if you end up taking to HR it is not only a "he said she said" situation. Take the high road and keep doing a great job!
