I'm just going to leave this right here.

This is great! Let's see..... 1. I have been married for 16 years but together 19 2. I have 4 kiddos ages 17, 13, 9, and 18 months 3. I never would have thought it but I REALLY have enjoyed being an older mom. I have so much more patience and really appreciate all the baby steps of growing. (although it will be FOREVER before my husband and I are alone again) 4. I love reality TV but not all reality tv. If it could expand my knowledge, it is not for me. It must kill brain cells! Lol 5. I was a hair stylist and loved if for a few years but moving from city to city killed that career and now I am in the mortgage industry 6. I have 2 cats that are like my husband's children (not when it comes to cleaning the kitty litter) 7. My 17 yr old is a tennis player so we are always out on weekends at tournaments 8. According to my kids, I have become a better cook since starting my liquid diet because I no longer taste as I cook and pray for the best. Apparently my taste buds are off and I over season. 9. I love to binge watch shows on Netflix and Amazon. 10. I love comedies and horrors but I do get scared and sleep with the light on 11. I make better pho than my thai sister-in-laws. I can make a few things but my pho is the best of them all 12. I love to vacation at the beach but do not want to live there. Can you say sticky, muggy, sand everywhere! Ok, I guess that is enough. I could go on and on.......(middle child syndrome......look at me, look at me!!) :)

  4. I am not too much help because I am only 11 days out of surgery but I was 206 when I started and lost 10lbs on my 2 week all liquid diet and 10lbs. since surgery. I anticipate the number of pounds will be lower as the months go on. We will get there! I am sure the percentages are about equal on people who weigh more than 200 and those who are 200 or less. So my 5-7 lbs a month will be close to someone's 10-15 lbs a month in individual percentages. Hopefully that makes kinda sense.....

    Having trouble

Have you tried the unflavored Protein in Water and crystal light? I am practically living off that right now. You can mix it in any drink or broth. It is not 100% flavorless but it has been better than the shakes for me. I get 2 with that and 1 regular shake. I am post op 1 week 1 day.
  6. @@KatlynMB so sorry I am just getting back on since the surgery on Monday. The liquid diet was hard at first and at the very end. I think I was so ready to be done. Now that I have made it through surgery, I have no appetite and have to make myself get all my water and protein in. I am glad I had to do the 2 week all liquid because I think it got me ready for the after diet. How are you doing on the diet so far?
  7. I am there at 530 am. UGH!! BUT I look at it as quick shower to antibacterialize myself and back in my jammies, no make, no hair. I will let my husband to drive and I will be on my way half asleep still. I hope my doctor is a morning person cuz ready or not here it comes!!

    Any Texans getting sleeved?

    Fort Worth May 16th!!
  9. T minus 6 days! It will be here before we know it! I have to be at the Surgery Center at 5:30 am so I must be one of the first on Monday. Honestly, I still can't believe I am doing it. From reading all the post on here, I know I will feel completely different after everything is said and done but it still seems crazy that I am here getting surgery!! liquid diet day 9: first couple of days I had a terrible attitude about the whole thing. " I'm going to be grumpy, starving and useless while on this crazy no chew diet!" And guess what?? I was BUT I decided on the third day to suck it up, put my big girl panties on and remember this too shall pass. After that, I was no longer hell on wheels, only slightly hungry from time to time and quite handy once and awhile. What I have learned is attitude is everything. Yes, I dislike the shakes my Dr has me on but I drink it anyway and look forward to my 1 cup of broth and 1 cup of Jello a day. I am tired but honestly, I was always tired. Having a baby who wakes up at night did that for me before I started the liquids. So basically keep your head up if you are struggling with the preop liquid diet. As many have said before, it gets easier (or you just adapt and get used to it). This too shall pass! Cheers to everyone on their liquid diet as I drink my lunch now! We got this!!!!
  10. I don't get to find out until right before the surgery. Kinda stinks!!
  11. @@jackbh so funny about the meatballs because I made them also last night and the meatballs were dying for me to taste them. (Which I did not) All liquid all the time is not my favorite place to be right now BUT it is a little easier today than yesterday and so on and so on. I eat Jello 1 a day to chew and drink 1 cup of broth a day for some savory goodness but I haven't been able to get 4 shakes in like they want. I get a solid 3 down so I think I am going to maybe divide the last one into the 3 and see if that will get it done. @@kmorri, I wish I could feel the lbs falling off!! I am pretty sure I am down a couple of lbs though. I have a scale but we are not friends right now. I am going to wait and be super excited at the DR office when I go in for surgery and they tell me I am down 10 lbs. 4 days done, 10 more to go!!!
  12. I had one also. Nothing to worry about. They put this little plastic thing in my mouth to guard my teeth and protect the camera thing. I remember thinking where do I put my tongue and then I was out!! Woke up 20 minutes later in recovery ate some ice chips and went home. A little throat soreness and sleepiness was all I had to deal later that day.
  13. @@Maggie Journey, I am not loving this all liquid diet so far. I have only been able to get down 3 shakes a day because I am not used to the taste. It is no bueno to me. I got peanut butter flavor and now am mixing the chocolate and peanut butter together and it makes it a little easier to get down. My tummy is starting to really rumble! I know I need to get more in but the taste makes it hard for me. I am trying though!! One day at a time. Only 12 1/2 more to go!!!
  14. @@kmorri I am slightly( and by slightly I mean tremendously) jealous! No solid food for me but I WILL make it through! (let's see if my husband has to peel me off the wall by Wednesday.)
  15. I had my first visit with the Dr. on March 16th and got my schedule date on April 18th. So total 2 months from first visit to surgery. I started my liquid diet ( all shakes with Jello, broth) this morning. I think day 2-4 might be the worst but we shall see. I will probably be on here midweek for some get me through this liquid diet support. I am working from home that week of my surgery so I can sleep when I need too. I will be unavailable when I need to rest and will work when I am coherent. I will be back in the office the following Monday but I am at a desk all day with no lifting or moving if I don't want to. (I will be hitting the gym at lunch to get my walking in)
  16. I have done all the steps too. My last appointment was yesterday for the blood work and final surgery ready testing. (EKG and chest x-rays) I am also on a full liquid diet with 4 Protein shakes + sugar-free popsicle, broth, Jello. I am not a huge sweets lover so this next 2 weeks are going to be interesting. I got myself off of artificial sweetener last year so the taste of the shakes is going to take some getting used to again. WE CAN DO IT!!!! I have done all the steps too. 17. I am also May 16th. I start my liquid diet May 1st and that is what I am most nervous about! I have been trolling on all the threads here so I feel better about it but I still can't wrap my head around that in 2 weeks I will there! I am in Texas.
