I'm Monday May 9th as well. So far so good, I'm not freaking out. I've just been way too busy this week so far to let my brain gallop away with me. I've been falling into bed at night simply exhausted from the day, and from the liquid diet. I've even been too tired to read before bed and for me that's almost unheard of!
I know the anxiety is there though. I can feel it right below the surface at times. Yesterday my left eye wouldn't stop twitching and driving me insane, which is a sure sign of stress in me. I'm trying to keep my mind on the bigger picture. Before the pre op liquid diet started I went out for a "last meal" with some friends to my favourite pub and got the best burger in the house. It was super delicious, and I found myself sad that I won't be eating a whole one again. But that's alright, I will have one again in the future. Without a bun, and maybe cut into three or four meals. But I will have it again. And so will you. And we will be healthier and happier when we do!

Preop feelings like this are very, very, VERY common. Have a look over the boards and you'll see.
I don't know who told you you wouldn't enjoy food again after surgery. I am 7.5 weeks out and in every stage of my postop phases, I've found that I enjoyed some foods more than others, but I've always had foods that I enjoyed eating. The lovely thing is that I'm satisfied with so much less now!
Everyone experiences pain differently. Mine wasn't bad at all. The worse part was my larger incision for for the first four days or so. I never took anything stronger than plain Tylenol once I got home from the hospital.
Probably the best response to a post like this I've seen was one that reminded the poster that the decision to have surgery was made when they weren't in a full-on preop meltdown. You decided to have this surgery for sound reasons. Those reasons still exist. They're still true. The only thing that has changed is your perspective.
Miserable? Is there anything more miserable than facing the rest of your life obese? Yes, you may feel less than great for a couple weeks. Not everyone does. A healthier rest of your life is the reward.

I hope pre op diet instructions and guidelines were given to you. No one should go into WLS uninformed. If you did not receive any guidelines, please call your bariatric team and ask for them. You deserve to know what you're getting into, what to expect from your surgery as well as from yourself.
There are many many WLS programs within the WLS community. You need to find the guidelines that are YOURS.
Others on this site can only give you what THEIR guidelines were/are.
You're special and deserve to know your special "road map".
You will feel much better equipped when you have YOUR facts.
Have an exciting WLS journey!, but remember to stop every now and then, and enjoy the moment as well as the journey.

I forgot to add that the only time my surgeon mentioned calories related to the pre-op diet was to say he didn't expect us to limit calories. He wanted us as healthy as possible for surgery. He only wanted us to limit sugars and starches.

    thatagirl!!
They may not have mentioned calories if counting them is not part of your pre op requirements.
You may be stress free in that department!
    Go with it, Friend!
    You got this!

Yes, I have all my guidelines and have even been to my pre op and nutritional classes but I don't remember them discussing the caloric intake for pre op or reading it. No worries I can always double check with my nutrionist or Dr Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

Mine only worked out to about 450 calories a day. I was allowed three Protein Shakes a day, one green salad with calorie-free dressing, and sugar-free Jello or popsicles. Since the only calories were coming from my three shakes and those were only 150 calories each, the total was 450.

Calories didn't matter for mine, just adhering to the choices I was given.
In most cases, the goal is to limit carbohydrate to reduce glycogen storage in the liver.

That is a great question for your surgeon. My pre-op diet was high Protein, very low carb. Calories didn't matter.

Good luck! It'll be rough, but remember, it's only temporary!
