  4. Great to hear from you guys and very happy for your progress Just one question though; is eating only 2-3 oz of anything is normal :? I cant eat or drink more than that at a time and thought I might have stricture especially when I used to eat more 10 days ago!! If it is normal for eat just 2-3 oz each meal I will be happy to hear from you guys and will make me feel relax to know that I am "NORMAL". Thank you and hope to hear from other buddies as well.

    Stricture?

    How are feeling now guys???
  6. I had that problem when I was 8 weeks after surgery (i am 11 weeks now), i started to have pain after eating solids while it was fine up to week 7th, i barely get any fluid in so I went to see my family doctor who told me it was either strictures or inflamed stomach, he increased the ppi dose for me and put me on fluids only for few days, i am feeling very well now and i can tolerate some solid foods again thank God. I will get barium swallow test next week to see if i have stricture (i hope not). Good luck.
  7. Dried prunes was the answer of this issue for me. I hate taking laxatives so my mother told me to take few dried prunes everyday and voila, i have no constipation anymore and it taste yummy too Good snack for a very good reason Good luck

  10. What are you afraid of?? Dont be afraid to eat, you have a tool now If you gain you know the way back, just stop there and start to maintain like you doctor adviced you before you became sick and regret being anything but healthy. Good luck.
  11. Hi guys I posted a while ago that I can't tolerate solid food like I used to few days ago so I went online to read about it and guess what?? It might be strictures which are more common complications than I was expected!! It starts 1-3 months after surgery when we can no longer tolerate solid food anymore so we need to see the doctor for it then depend on the upper GI series the doctor will decide if he is going to use the endoscopy to dilate the stricture and for how many time we need it!! Is there anyone here or heard about anyone who had that to talk about his or her experience please?? I am sooooo scared. Thank you.
  12. I am almost 10 weeks post op, i was eating fine to the point that few days ago I was scared that I was eating too much, but all of the sudden and right after a very harsh acid reflux I started to feel pain when eating solid food to the point that i am afraid to eat anymore solid while I am OK with liquid and soft food!! Does anyone experience something like this??
  13. I am eating hard boiled eggs with no problem.
  14. I lost 30 lbs since my surgery on March 27 My BMI was 32 when I had my surgery so my doctor said I will be a slow looser which is ok with me, I have 10 more to reach a normal BMI and 25 lbs to reach my goal weight BUT last few days I experience some more restrictions to the point that I couldn't tolerate solids anymore, the doctor said I might have some strictures, it is a normal late side effect for gastric sleeve and bypass patients which usually start after the 8th week of the surgery, so he ordered upper GI tests for me to do it next week, if i have it they will have to stretch it anyone else experience something like that?? Wish me luck guys.

    Baloon

My sister had it, it was horrible experience, she lost some weight (only 6 kg in 6 months) because she was puking all the time then when she took it off her stomach was more larger than before so she put double the weight she lost during the baloon period. It is kind of kick start for diet people so you can continue the struggle on your own after removing it.

    Any other Canadians out there?

I took my surgery in Amman Jordan with one of the most famous bariatric surgeon there (Dr. Khrais), it coast me $5000 US plus the plane tickets and two nights stay at the hotel before the surgery (was very nice vacation loool) I stayed two nights in hospital after surgery, the doctor and the staff were very very nice, my friend went there too three weeks ago and did it with the same surgeon, she is so happy with 0 regrets Good luck all.

    BMI 31-32

Good for you girl I am 54 too, my BMI was 32 when I took the surgery 10 weeks ago, i lost 30 lbs so far and i need to loose another 30 to reach my goal weight. how much do you eat usually because I have a problem for more that a 1/4 cup each meal, my husband is worrying about me eating that little and I feel embarrassed when I eat that little in front of people especially when no one know about my surgery :,(
  18. My BMI was around 32 when I took the surgery. I lost 30 lbs over the last 10 weeks (I have been told we will loose very slow comparing to others and I have no problem with that). I have 30 lbs to loose to reach my goal weight. Good luck all.
  19. . I have this feeling for the past few days now. I am almost 10 weeks post op, i did my surgery outside Canada so I dont have a surgeon to go back to here at home. Let me know how it goes with your doctor. Good luck.

    Stomach stretching

Thank you. This is what WLS all about, no diets, no stress nothing, just Portion Control and we should be ok unless we eat and drink pure chocolates every two minutes, this is what my sergeon told me about the surgery and this is what I hear from successful people who did the sleeve 5-10 years ago. Good luck.
  22. This was exactly what happened with me. I went to see my family doctor next day, he said I might have gastritis since it happened after I had a very high acid reflux which might leave my sleeve inflamed, he gave me 60 mg of ppl and asked me to take gaviscon before eating anything, he told me to stay on liquid for few days and avoid coffee, tomatoes, chocolates, orange and lemon juices.... Etc I feel better today, much better actually I ate scrambeled egg with some cheese on top and it was fine (no more pain) thank God So my best bet would be the stomach acid which could inflame our sleeves every once in a while Thank you guys and good luck
  23. I am 2 months and three days post op and yesterday and today I felt like I would like to eat eat and eat, I have the feeling that I am eating more than before and......... I AM SCARED!!! Any logic (less scary) explanation fot this would be greatly appreciated.
