We have the same goal weight ...Looks like you're doing great ! I was just wondering... when I go from eating pureed chicken to eating actual cubes of chicken, will the same amount fill me up more? Maybe it's because I am eating soft chicken the consistency of thick pate and haven't moved on yet to actual pieces. I bet eating actual meat pieces will fill me up better. ( Meat pieces, lol, that sounds gross )

Thank you ALL ! I agree I just need to step AWAY from the scale. It was exciting the first few weeks, I got on the scale everyday and I was losing a lb a day... The scale was my best friend.... now it is just stressing me out. Good luck to all of you !
  4. I am 4 weeks post op tomorrow. I have found that I lost more weight during my 2 week Pre-Op Diet, than I have in the 4 weeks since my Surgery. 2 weeks Pre Op = 20 lbs 4 weeks Post Op = 10 lbs ( and fluctuating up and down a lb ) I'm doing everything right -getting tons of Protein (70-100 per day ) in the form of canned pureed chicken/tuna and Protein shakes, my calories rarely go over 800...Limiting carbs ( the only carbs I get are from Fat Free Milk and some in my Fat Free pudding ) Not eating fruit yet , haven't started eating salads and veggies again yet... Just not losing weight the way I expected to. I feel hungry all the time, even though I get enough protein. I keep reading about how people can only eat 2 TBSP of a food and they are stuffed. Is anyone else experiencing this also at 4 weeks out ?

    Protein shakes

For Ready to Drink, my go-to is EAS Advantage Carb Control, for Powder I like Gold Standard Vanilla Ice Cream ... You can do SO MUCH with it.
  6. I went back 5 days Post Op and I'm so glad I did- Desk job. I had no problems at all. It kept my mind busy and off food... I can't IMAGINE sitting around my house bored for 2-4 weeks right after surgery.
  7. I am starting week 2, or my Full liquids Phase. This morning I had an 11 oz EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control RTD, and I sipped on it and I finished it in about an hour... I never felt an restriction. I feel full and satisfied ( not stuffed and miserable, I felt like it was the perfect amount ) I know everyone is different, but my concern is that I am reading about people only tolerating 2-3 oz at a time...I sipped and sipped and took it slow and finished the whole thing - all 11 oz......( 17g Protein, 2.5 g fat, 3 Carbs, no sugars. ) Maybe the 2-3 oz only applies to people who have moved on to pureed/soft foods. The EAS is pretty thin and seems to go right down. I feel like I could have this for Breakfast everyday for the next 2 weeks while I am on full liquids. Am I on the right track ?
  8. Hello there ! I just joined myself. I was sleeved on April 1st - so I am 8 days post op. I can tell you that personally for me the Livestrong.com website "My Plate" app was totally critical to my Pre-Op Diet success. I have never tracked my calories before my Pre op Diet and using that tool really opened my eyes and help me accountable. I did NOT track on my 1st week Post Op. I just didnt see the point, I was only eating broth and sugar free pops and Water. Today I am starting my "Full Liquids" phase for 2 weeks. I am back on Livestrong tracking my calories again.

Any April 2016 VSGers out there?

Hello everyone... I'm new on here. Literally an hour new. I was sleeved April 1st. I'm 8 days out. I can answer questions from everything from Pre Op Diet to Surgery, Recovery and the Post Op Liquid Diet. I am just starting Full Liquids today ( OK last night before bed ) .... I am certainly not an expert or a Doctor, but I have done it and would love to hear from people that are just now a week post op like me.
