  1. I was sleeved June 22nd as well. Today I have my follow up appt with my surgeon and meeting with a nutritionist to go over step 3 of my reintroduction to eating solids.

    Hw: 295

    Sw:288

    Cw:273

I did a 2 week pre op high Protein diet followed by a 2 week post op full/clear liquids and tomorrow I can start reintroducing food. Soft foods first then more solids as my body sees fit.

I do have diabetes and they took me off metformin right after surgery. No complications but I am on bloodthinners for 3 months post op as a precaution due to being on HBC.

    :)

  2. Hello! Had vsg on 6/22 - it's been a great experience so far, I'm glad to have been invited over to this board with other June sleevers!

I am not posting my personal info on here because I work in the public eye in my hometown of Cleveland, and am trying to keep things under wraps. The only people who know I had surgery are my husband and my mother! ;-)

I love to hear and read everybody's experiences - I've definitely taken all of the "before" pics and can't wait for the "after" ones. :-)

I'm currently down 13 lbs. from surgery and tolerating soft foods well - I'm on the "Phase 3" diet. It seems like my surgeon allowed me to move quicker through the liquid phase of the diets than what is reflected in other people's experiences on here, I wonder why that is? Has anybody else been allowed to incorporate food into their diet yet (i.e. flaky fish, cheeses, mashed potatoes etc?)

    MY STATS:

    HW: 295

    SW: 286

    CW: 273

We have the same weight stats and are surgery twins yay!

My plan skips the pureed food stage. I go from 2 weeks clear and full liquids right into reintroducing food at my own pace.

  3. Reconsider the iud! There are 3 on the market now. Skyla-for women who have not had children yet-it contains hormones and is smaller mirana -the big sister to Skyla and Paraguard which contains copper and no hormones.

I didn't have weight gain using the nuvering.

I did have issues with the arm implant gaining weight. So in september I will go back on the pill when it's removed.

Non hormone methods-diaphram or cervical cap.

Hopefully in a couple years I can just get my tubes tied and be done.

  4. I am having surgery on Monday. June 27th. I was originally scheduled for July 18th but they had a cancellation and now I'm freaking. I had planned how I would handle the month waiting, be really organized and ready. Now my brain is a mess! I had ten days to prepare when I found out I got bumped up. I'm sure it'll work out fine, it's just a little nerve wracking.

Good luck! Try and get as much rest tomorrow as you can!

  5. I have 6. Which is fine. I thought 5 was the usual.

They are healing well and do not hurt. This skin glue though is driving me batty!

I was a little out of it when my surgeon came by the day after. I remember him being suprised and telling me I had a "big" piece of stomach to remove. So maybe that has something to do with it?

Not a super serious concern. Just curious. I will ask at my post op follow up on the 5th.

    :)

  6. 3 days out for me. I know it's early *knock on wood* but no heartburn issues, no major bathroom troubles and no pain meds needed. I am gassy if I sip too fast and struggle with gross Protein shakes but have found that unflavored Protein in my Tomato Soup is just as good!

I love this feeling of getting healthy and it's encouraging me so much!
