Well.... its done... i am officially post op!!!
Doing quite well surprisingly

For anyone reading this... we are referring to football teams lol

I sure hope so... just having a couple of "moments"
Im sure my loved ones must think ive developed some multiple personalities lol

OMG! OMG!.... i am booked in for the gastric sleeve and i am totally freaking out!.. im feeling every emotion i know..... happiness, mourning food.. worried, stressed, Hopeful.. you name it.. im feeling it.
Strange... as an ex bander.. i thought i would be more prepared.
How were you feeling emotionally prior to your surgery?

Ill be sleeved in 12 hours.... i am so nervous now..... and all i feel like is a big juicy steak! Lol

Im doing okay... im crazy nervous... 12 hours to go.... I am feeling suprisingly emotional yet i cant see myself there getting it done.. kinda surreal... if that makes sense...

One minute im excited... next minute im scared.. next minute i wanna cancel and run... lol
I caught up with loved ones today.... i even gave a verbal will hahahahaha ... im crazy... yes lol

Don't do it!! You will go back to square one! Its not worth it to jeopardise your surgery.
The cravings will ease one you are in ketosis.
Im on day nine... and i am craving bread and meat.. but i remind myself that this phase will end and after surgery i will have a little more flexibility.
Why not have a chocolate flavoured shake? Or chocolate Protein pudding mix?

If you want to speak to a post op person "kindafamiliar" is also an aussie

Yeah... Unfortunately for us emotional eaters... we eat when we are happy, sad, angry, bored, to Celebrate, to mourn...etc
There is no escaping it!
Btw i replied to your other post regarding the aussie process with the surgeon

It is alot different on Australia than the states.
Basically we dont get approved as such... we need to be a BMI of 40+ or 35 with health issues.
You will meet with your surgeon.. he will hear your story.. and discuss surgery options and make recommendations, then once you have decided to go ahead... you book a hospital date... then see the psych and nutritionist.
You do the pre op diet and then you get done... and thats pretty much the process

I am a WLS veteran though... had the band for 6 years...was successful... had complications so i had it removed 12 months ago.. gained weight... so i decided to go ahead and do the sleeve.

KittyCathy.... i wouldn't worry about it too much.
Think of it this way.... you would already be aging faster beng 320... so you will actually notice people look and feel younger with weight loss.
This surgery has been done for years as the first step to another surgery and also has been used to treat some stomach cancers.... and i would think doctors would not do it on a mass scale if it has the potential to cause major issues down the track.
Was this article a medical journal article or is it potential hogwash from around the Internet?
