Looking for people who are likely to get surgery in Spring 2017!
I'm Hoping to have surgery this November, but I'm just commenting to say that time will fly! I had 6 months and now I've got one more diet visit, and a class and surgery shortly after. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Being denied due to weight gain...
Not all insurance deny surgery due to weight gain. That's one thing I've learned during researching. UHC doesn't deny if you have weight gain. Luckily! But I don't drink soda. Haven't in over a year. So I'm pretty excited. My issue is my thyroid. But that's okay. This is going to happen regardless. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Starting to set in... (Finally being real)
Last diet visit: September 3rd. Class: October 5th. And then everything is being submitted. I have united healthcare, and have heard the process moves quickly. But knowing me I will be calling... A LOT! I also know that there's not a weight requirement (restriction?) so I should be okay with that. I started thinking about WLS a little over a year ago, but never followed through because my insurance didn't cover it. But to be at this point seems so surreal... I'm 22 years old and weigh 400 pounds. I've never said that to anybody but close family before. I am a single mommy to 2 year old twin girls, who are absolutely positively my "Why". I've always and I mean ALWAYS been the "bigger girl" and would honestly attach myself to anybody who actually showed interest in me. When I was younger being bigger phased me, but eventually I got used to it, and continued to gain confidence in myself. Regardless of my weight, I was/am a good person. But I'm finally going to gain control of my own life. I'm so so so excited. Bring on October, bring on this 3 week liquid diet! Bring it on. Because nothing... And I mean NOTHING will hold me back from my future any longer! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Getting Approved with <40 BMI
From what I've read, a co-morbidity is a co-morbidities no matter how you put it. I'd look up insurance requirements and whatnot before gaining/faking 20 pounds. Some Won't allow any weight gain. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm in school, and will be having my surgery in November. I just made sure that I have already emailed my professors. PreOp Diet Hunger Help
Look at it this way, at least you don't have to do 3 weeks of a liquid diet. Clear, sugar free, and broths only. That's literally NOTHING! I'm just praying to God that thanksgiving is smooth sailing lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone just now starting thier 6 month supervised diet?
I literally go in, get weighed, she asks if I have any questions, and then allows me to leave Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's what I'm thinking they'll do at mine because my caseworker said it's pointless to do the 6 months especially if they don't require me to lose any weight but that is what my insurance company is requesting I do. But I do have some questions when I first start. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App I made the best out of them. Get questions answered, help with any eating issues or cravings, learn how to eat post-op. I did the same. But most the time, she would just tell me okay start Vitamins now. Your recovery will look like this. Etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
