  1. Hi Everybody, my surgery is scheduled from March 12th (after my 2nd cancellation) but no more of those, I am full speed ahead with WLS this time around. My question is, how are most of you doing with your pre-op diet? My doctor didn't really give me one except to eat balanced meals and replace 1 meal with a protein shake every day. I've started that this week. Does anyone else have any helpful hits for this surgery? Things that are working or not working for them? Lastly, anyone else scheduled for March 12th!?

    Premier Protein Clear

Hi Has anyone tried the new Premier Protein Clear for 1st week post op? My sleeve is scheduled for March 12th and I hear that Isopure can be extra sweet sometimes.

Thanks everyone, I bought the Isopure for now in orange and I may have to water that down as well but my surgery is March 12th, can't WAIT to get this show on the road! LOL.

I just ordered a mixed box of Premier Protein, strawberry banana, vanilla and chocolate from Amazon. I hope it tastes good because it's going to be my breakfast for the next 3 weeks or so. I'm so excited to get this surgery and like you I Just want to get it done so I can lose weight and let my true flyness surface! LOL.

Sorry I haven't been on much but no, there was no weight gain issue, i just chickened out TWICE, now I'm bigger than ever so it's time to get sleeved!

I cannot drop coffee! I did drop wine/alcohol but I'm on my way to get coffee now. I just can't give that up right now. I am ordering my bariatric vitamins this week, along with something to keep my hair from falling out. I drink water all day every day....you sound really focused. Happy for you. I am hoping to get OFF of the CPAP, i hate that thing and I've been on it for over 5 years. Pleased to meet you!

    Calling March Sleevers

Hey there, I just had my nutrition counseling yesterday, it was very positive and eye opening. I logged in this morning to look at bari-ware which are the containers where you can pack smaller portions of food. I'm also looking for that really good Premier Protein drink that has bananas in it. I wasn't counting calories and gained back 4 pounds. I'm back in my meal replacement diet and full liquids 24 hours before surgery. I'm happy to meet someone that is having their surgery on the exact same day. YAY!

Hi kakatalady612 thank you for responding! I have not given up coffee but I have given up alcohol and sugary carbs and potato chips...pretty much most of the things that got me to this point. I just had a "Boost" protein drink for lunch. I hope you get your date soon, I feel like the only weirdo getting sleeved in March. I work for a University so I had to shoot for spring break to take two weeks off. I hope to lose a little weight before surgery as well, that would be nice. My husband takes all of that Omeprazole stuff, if he doesn't his stomach goes CRAZY. I hope to have us both eating much healthier after my surgery.

    Liquid diet worries

That is a long time for a liquid diet but I wish you the best. I think my liquid diet is 24-48 hours before surgery but even I am eyeballing that liquid Isopure like seriously? That is supposed to hold me? You can do this, mind over matter right?!

    March 2018 VSG

I'm scheduled for Sleeve on March 12th, going to start prepping everything February 23rd - buying my stuff for the pre-op and liquid diet on that date and then staying on pre-op for 2 weeks before my surgery on March 12th.
  16. I can totally relate. I was supposed to get sleeved on December 18th but I never followed my pre-op diet and mostly that was because I didn't get my approval until 1 week before the surgery. I felt like...why should I follow a pre-op diet if my insurance is just going to decline me? I wasn't mentally prepared, so I didn't cancel my insurance but moved it to March 18th. This gives me plenty of time to go through with the surgery, eat properly, change my diet and do things the right way. Maybe you should do the same thing? I wanted to do it in February but my job asked me to wait until March, possibly spring break (I work for a University) when things aren't so hectic.
  17. Hi I am scheduled for March, why do you feel that way? Is it because your food is so restricted? I have so many worries.
  18. Thank you for that...it definitely makes me feel better. I wish nothing but the best for you and your continued progress and healing!
  19. Have you spoken to your doctors about this? I think that they should know, because you're not getting enough fluids and you don't want to get dehydrated. I'm so sorry you're going through this, you're making me afraid to have the surgery. I was December 18th but I moved my surgery to March 18th.
  20. Are you still having regrets? Is your fluid intake any better? How many ounces are you actually getting in?

    Blue Cross Blue Shield

3 weeks but I called BC/BS and they said that they turn it around in 3-5 business days so i think your doctors office sat on the paper work. I know mine sure did...crazy.
  22. That's what I have, you're Gucci, trust me you're approved....now buy the rest of your stuff and get mentally prepared!!!
  23. They did the SAME THING TO ME! I had my surgery date 2 months before I got approved. I started this process in September. They did that because they KNOW you'll get approved! What is your insurance? I have BC/BS and they approve everybody! LOL.
  24. You will be fine...trust me. I thought I would get denied but now that I have approval I'm scared as s*.......
  25. I doubt you will get denied but I was in the same boat you're in. I didn't want to spend money buying stuff if I was going to get denied. I just got my approval letter in the mail on Saturday and didn't read it until SUNDAY. I'm supposed to have surgery on MONDAY December 18th and I've bought nothing because I wasn't sure I would be approved (My BMI was exactly 35 and since my pre-op diet I am a BMI of 33) so I figured I might get declined. I say go ahead and buy everything and get prepared because now I'm scrambling to buy two weeks worth of stuff in a few days.
