  1. You have me a little concerned because I can take not being able to eat a lot but I can't take not liking the way that anything tastes....that's just....that's just wrong. Please keep us posted if your taste buds get better.
  2. So....do you still think you need the surgery? If I could get from 35 to 32 I would keep going and probably not get sleeved.
  3. I've heard of Orgain, do you get that at GMC? Yeah, I might have to try that because the pre-made shakes are pretty damn nasty. Did your taste buds change after surgery, or you just couldn't eat much?
  4. Are you telling me that the surgery changed your taste buds? Not sure I can handle that....
  5. You know i'm sitting here hollering right? You have a similar sense of humor to mine....I know the beginning is going to be terrible and I know I will probably get depressed. I mean the fact that my family is downstairs right now eating spaghetti and I'm sitting here drinking this chalky premier protein for dinner already sucks but you have to start somewhere. I just have to tough out the initial stages and then reap the benefits moving forward.
  6. Yep jaminator....you're my spirit animal! Talking to you makes me feel as though I'm going to be alright. Not looking forward to the post-op liquid diet or blended died or soft diet but it's necessary. My BMI was 35 when I got approved but now it's 33 and I still want the surgery because I have health issues that have crept up like high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I want to live a long and healthy life...I think that our weight loss will be similar....I'm kind of hyped now. My surgery is Monday and I just got insurance approval on Sunday last week. Now I have to run out and buy everything because I didn't think I should buy all of that stuff if I wasn't going to get approved yunno? Now I have to focus really hard and mentally prepare to become AWESOME!
  7. You're my 'effin' SPIRIT ANIMAL! That's pretty much how my life is going at the moment. Do you still drink alcohol, or do you pretty much leave it alone now? Also, what do you eat now on a normal day? (sans liquid and mush in the beginning?) Also, do you have a lot of loose skin? Are you exercising?
  8. EXACTLY what my doctor said, so I didn't see the huge deal in the pre-op diet. Did you stick to 1 replacement meal per day? So I'm having my protein shake for dinner...may as well start now with the meal replacement I went and bought some Premier Protein shakes.
  9. SuzyQutie...and say what? i never really drank 1 protein shake per day? That's all I was told to do, replace 1 meal with a protein shake per day and to practice my protein goal of 70-90 grams of protein per day. Make sure I have 1 cup of veggies, small serving of fruits, etc. I actually lost 10 lbs eating that way but never really did the meal replacement. I appreciate your saying I should talk to my doctor but that's kind of....not what I want to do at the moment.
  10. Im supposed to have surgery on Monday and never started my pre-op diet. Thinking about postponing until I’m more mentally prepared. Thoughts?
