  1. Hey all! I am just over a year out and doing very well. One of the things I have compromised on however, is coffee. I missed it and had a few things happen in the past year (unrelated to my surgery) which caused several sleepless nights. I fell off the wagon when it comes to coffee. I found this on Kickstarter, and it made me think that there are likely others like me out there, that would at least like to get a "helping hand" out of there coffee! Take a look toss them some funds if you, like me think this will be beneficial to you to meet your Protein goals. They are apparently looking to do tea as well! Also, if you have found any other neat ideas to help folks supplement their protein intake, post them as a response.

    Protein

These were a super help for me early on and are great if I need supplemental protein now (I am just over a year out and I am down 110lbs). I would recommend drinking one of these after an intense workout. The workout itself will help you curb your hunger, and the extra protein will keep you from being sore. http://www.theisopurecompany.com/product/isopurezerocarbrtd.html I have to recommend drinking them very cold though. At room temperature, they have an odd mouth-feel. Also, as a coffee drinker, I am also funding the following on Kickstarter: Caffeine and protein! Together at last!

    Maryland sleevers?!

Rob from Harford County. I was sleeved on 04/01/16 (last Friday) at GBMC. Dr. Dovec was my surgeon. I have to say the entire experience was amazing. Especially considering this was my first surgery and I was quite nervous. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  4. I have not had this problem myself, but my surgeon warned that cold liquids can make you spasm, which can make you feel full and not allow you to drink any more. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
  5. Good luck. I was sleeved on Friday. Recovery has not been bad at all. Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-op liquid diet...is this right?

It may not seem like a lot now, but I just got sleeved on 04/01/16, and 8oz is down right daunting. It is taking me over an hour to consume an 8 oz shake. I prepped myself for months in regards to portion sizes, etc., and trust me, it will help you in the long run. They want to ensure that your stomach is not bloated for the surgery, in order to minimize complications as well. It's tough, but hang in there! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App

    Rant: Obnoxious comments

Sorry, this is my first post on this forum. I just had my sleeve on Friday and have been lucky enough to lose some weight pre-op. I am sorry to say this, but it seems that your mother is insensitive and possibly projecting. Don't let anyone's comments, good or bad, discourage you. You started this journey for yourself. If you believe that you have always been attractive, chances are that is true. We are our own worst critics. Just remember, you are not creating a new person, just improving on who you already are. Good luck and great job on your loss so far! Sent from my SM-N910T using the BariatricPal App
