  1. I have several friends that went to Dr Lord, and my best friend studied under him. You will be in great hands!! Let us know when you get that call!!!!
  2. I probably shouldn't be admitting this, but I'm going to anyway. My surgeon actually had me drink from a straw prior to leaving the hospital. His reasoning was to keep me from gulping the Water. Yes, I did have those little one ounce cups, but that was just enough to piss me off so we compromised. Gotta say.....I've been drinking from them ever since. Let the surgeon bashing begin...
  3. @@JoeVegas Like @@jaxmom I too have a lump in my throat. First, I want to thank you for having the courage to post this. More so than not, I have those same thoughts and fears. I absolutely hate that you are going through it, but I find relief in knowing I'm not the only one. 9 weeks post op, however many pounds down, and countless acquaintances shocked at the loss, yet my mind will not allow me to trust them, the process, or the numbers on the scale. One thing I am very happy about is this forum. I have met some of the most friendliest people ever and no matter what I might be freaking out over at the time, there is always someone to bring me back to reality without judging. One thing that someone told me that I'm constantly repeating to myself on a daily basis is... "You will not be the one person surgery will not work for. Just trust the process". We can do this. One second at a time.....we can do this. Congratulations on your journey and please keep us posted.
  4. Oh how exciting, and congratulations. You will do great!!!
  5. @@LipstickLady Will you also bring hot young guys to put their hands on my ass like they do at mud runs?!?!?
  6. I have to backup the advice from @@LipstickLady I found that not only did my taste change, the thought of most items made me nauseas after. So wish I would have waited to buy most things after, but once reading a few "horror" stories, I really thought I would be bedridden for days if not weeks. Thankfully I was up and out the minute I was released the next day. Hopefully you will be too!!
  7. 9 weeks out and 45 down. I do still have blah days, but I can honestly say the good ones are quickly outnumbering the bad!!
  8. @@jaxmom Don't forget the camping you love so much!! Glad your scale will live to see another day!!
  9. maybe we should weigh on the moon On bad days....Id weigh myself in kg's. Definitely gives the ole ego a boost. Lol
  10. Right before my surgery I purchased the WW body analysis glass scale. It was around $40 at Target, but I feel it was worth the investment. I will point out in the operating manual, it did state that to put it in one place, and continue to weigh there. If weight fluctuates that much in different areas....I'd like to find the place that lets me see 130 pop up. Lol.
  11. It's important to note that there is a big difference between being an introvert and being socially isolated. I am an introvert. What that means is I need to recharge in solitude, not live in solitude. Healthy introverts still have friends and are social. They don't live in isolation or seclusion. I think that's the kind "social isolation" being discussed here. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Thank you @@becomingmandikaye Sadly there is a big misconception as far as introverts are concerned, and in being one myself, I think you summed it up perfectly. 12. @@Valentina You are absolutely correct. I for one thought I was so much happier living in solitude. Problem is, I didn't realize how much I relied on food for that happiness until I couldn't eat. Those first few weeks were rough, but I remembered I had the sleeve in order for me to start living. 9 weeks into my new journey, and I couldn't be happier.
  13. Prior to surgery, I added it to plain Greek yogurt. Makes a great dip for apples and celery. It was the chocolate one. I personally couldn't taste the chocolate flavor.
  14. @@KristenLe Thank you, and anytime. Laughing's my favorite!!
  15. I'm sure you are absolutely right, @@Christinamo7 Just remind me of this the next time one rolls around!! PuLeeeze and thank you!!!
  16. I'm not gonna lie, I was getting depressed. Real depressed. See, I was in a stall. Yeah yeah we should embrace them. Well, the embracing lasted for all of a week, then shyt got real. The second week rolled around, and then the third...... I'm not sure if it was lack of carbs, or this whole stall thing.....but I have been a beotch. Today makes 9 weeks post op. I reluctantly hop on the scale. After a long 4 weeks...I'm a beautiful 5 pounds down. <---THAT....I can embrace. And yes, I am performing another interpretive dance number called.... "I might not be humping on this hump day, but the stall has been lifted.....and that's kinda the same thing" Happy 45 pounds down to me!!!!
  17. @@imala74 If it makes you feel any better....I was sleeved on 3/23, two days BEFORE you, and you still lost more weight than I have. As others stated, make sure you get in your Protein, but I would be ecstatic with 48 pounds!! Good job!!
  18. @@oldbriannomore I couldn't agree more on the thought of fake people. @@OKCPirate When's the last time you were in NO? You don't have to walk "that far" anymore. Lol. And might I add I am now craving a muffaletta from Central Grocery!!
  19. I, sir, stand and applaud you. Not only for coming forward, but for being "real". Congratulations on your success!!
  20. Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you in making this decision. It's not an easy one, or an easy road after, but you have your whole life ahead of you and this surgery will allow you to truly live it. Good luck and please let us know how it went!!!
  21. As @@MarciaN said....."Don't settle" I am 44 and divorced since 1998. Only had two very short relationships since then, but that's all it took to realize I was much happier alone than in a setting that "society" led me to think I needed. Have I sworn off relationships/dating? Not at all, but he, whomever it might be, will have to be someone amazing to get me to take notice. If my lack of looking makes me die alone, then so be it. Being able to just plan for myself is pretty darn good. I'm kinda selfish like that, but we all deserve a little selfishness Point is......I'd rather die alone happy, than miserable in a relationship.
  22. My advice to you is.... 1) if you haven't already, contact the landlord to let them know what has happened and when you moved out. 2) Girl go get your stuff and forget the rest. Especially the helping him pack. I totally get the financial worries, but the sooner you cut your ties, the sooner you are able to move forward. Money does add strain, but your mental health is far more important!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!
  23. Congratulations and good luck!!!
  24. Been wanting to try the orange. Glad to hear it's good!!
  25. Way to be optimistic during what I am sure was such a disappointing time. Good luck with your surgery!!!
