Weird question...
Wore clothes. Also made sure I went to a bathroom first, if I was busting after a car trip. The only thing I took off were my shoes.

I've accepted the 2nd offer! The first one was too silly, far too low. 2nd offer was lot higher and much better. Fingers crossed it sells soon!

HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS PRE OP!
I did it still afraid. Once I got to the hospital, I was so busy that I forgot about my fears. Then, later I was given a nice pre-med drug cocktail that actually relaxed me so much that I fell asleep while I was waiting for the surgery. Then a trip to theatre room, count backwards from 10, vaguely remember 8, and next I was waking up in recovery to have my vitals checked. Fell asleep again, briefly woke up to have my vitals checked (don't remember being wheeled to my hospital room), fell asleep etc .... I was done late in the evening, so I just slept and slept. Next day had a walk with a physio plus my IV stand, started on my fluids, had bit of pain, mainly from my drain site on my left side, got good pain killers. Was relieved once the drain came out the day after (not everyone gets a drain), could sip more fluids, had a clear Soup, Jello, Water, tea. Not much pain after drain came out. No nausea, no vomiting. This was lot less painful surgery than some other ones I had in the past. So, have faith that if it brought you this far, you can go further, be afraid etc, just take one step at a time, and One Day at a Time. Good Luck!

First ever Sliming episode at 8 months post op
@@_Kate_ Thank you! It was such a surprise for me. And, yes, I did feel like crap for few hours afterwards, just had to take it easy. Yes, the length of recovery time doesn't matter. Got to stick to the rules ...... hopefully it won't happen again! Thank you for your comments

First ever Sliming episode at 8 months post op
Craved some Japanese food, so I had 4 small gyozas, and I was fine with those. I also got 4 steamed pork dim sims to go, and had them many hours later. I think I ate them too fast and broke the no fluids for 30 mins after food, as I had to take few large tablets about 10 mins after I had the dim sims. Had that stuck feeling in my oesophagus, and I could feel it spasming a bit. I just sat down, waiting for this unpleasant feeling to go away, next thing this huge slime ball comes out of me ..... No nausea, just slime and more slime. Yuck! It just shows that at 8 months post op, stuff can still happen! I was too busy to eat, so I got too hungry and ate too fast. I am not sure if the light Pasta like wrapping had something to do with the sliming, although gyozas have a thin layer of pasta like wrapping also, and I was OK with them. I normally would have my regular Protein meal, but frankly I had enough of it, and wanted to try something else. Anyone else, further down post op still sliming at times? What sets it off for you?

Seriously?
Amazing post. And so true. As someone who has been involved with 12 Step programs like AA most of my life, believe you me, there is none of that nonsense going on when someone in a meeting admits they 'slipped'. There's no coddling, head patting or excusing the behavior. There's just "Get your sh*t together, man, or you're going to DIE". Agree! Denial is Not a river in Africa, and people are advised that they can go out and do some more "research" while having all their misery refunded! Definitely no coddling, or saying that "one" drink/drug/unhealthy food won't hurt ..... It will Hurt! It starts the addiction again, and some people unfortunately never make it back alive ....

The genetic theory does not apply to me. I was Slim all my life till 2014. You can check my photos in my Gallery. I also suffer from depression on and off, and never gained weight because of it. My Graves Disease (autoimmune thyroid disorder) did 180 degree turn 2 years ago, I piled on weight 2014-early 2016, yet my Endo says that Graves contributed about 25% to my weight-gain, rest was my unhealthy eating during those 2 years. I gained 90Ib in 2 years due to eating loads of chocolate and fatty foods, and stopped even going for walks, let alone exercise. I have lost 70Ib so far, and nearing goal weight, albeit slower 8 months post op. If genetics were true, and even Graves Disease where you have high metabolism and can eat almost anything without putting on weight, I would have never gained this 90Ib! I wish ......- Sleeve scheduled for 10/19- would you do it again?
Yes, I would do it again! At 6 months I got off Nexium PPI and remained reflux free. At 6 months my gurgling stomach noises went away, and if they occasionally come back, they are lot quieter. At 6 months I was down 70Ib. At 6 months most of the foods (healthy ones) that did not agree with me, I am now able to eat. At 6 months, the stomach is completely healed. I am now 8 months post op, and doing well. Wishing all the earlier post op members great improvement in health and great results!- Hi, any sleevers from Sydney?
@@sanaa.a Very welcome! Yes, please keep me posted, and if I can help or give support, PM me or post. Yes, this surgery made me lose most of my excess weight. I am not too far from goal, but my weight-loss has slowed down in the last month. Stomach is fully healed. However, the loss will continue ... Once again, all the best for your surgery!- Hi, any sleevers from Sydney?
@@sanaa.a That's great. I suppose it depends on a person's BMI and excess weight. Here are some members who did not have to have any pre-op diet, and some that had to be on this diet for 4 weeks prior the op. It is mainly to shrink the liver, so the surgeon can see better inside you, and does not have to deal with enlarged liver being in the way. I was lower BMI 37.1, 101kg, 165cm in height. My liver was not overly enlarged. Your diet is only for 1 week, so as the lady said, just get back to eating the right foods and drinks, and stop worrying about it. Good luck- Killian's Gastric Sleeve Journey
Quite a few thyroid members had similar experiences with their Thyroxine levels getting too strong with each major weight-loss, and complaining of not sleeping, or doing housework at 3 am ..... So, definitely for you to have this surgery once you're retired sounds like a very sensible plan. It is so tough to try and work when you had only 2-3 hrs sleep. Thankfully I have not been working for a while, so my many sleepless nights only made me tired, and not stressed. Yes, I hope to get my levels corrected soon, although it takes 6 weeks to really notice a diference. Fingers crossed! And if you ever need support, or have questions, please post or PM me @@Killian I'll be happy to share my experiences with you.- Hi, any sleevers from Sydney?
Hi Real Me, Good luck for the following Thursday! It will be over before you know it- Hi, any sleevers from Sydney?
I had to do it for 2 weeks, the pre op diet. I messed up too, couple of times and it wasn't an issue. That's great that you spoke with your Bariatric office. Why are you worried that you will be turned down, after 1 slip up? Did the office tell you this? I know it is hard, the pre-op diet, and after your surgery you will have to follow the post op instructions strictly as the new stomach needs to heal. The post op food phases are very important for healing and preventing complications. Hang in there!- Hi, any sleevers from Sydney?
Hi and Welcome! I used to live in Sydney's Eastern suburbs, but moved to Queensland few years ago. On the Gold Coast now. It is normal to feel scared and anxious before this surgery. I had few surgeries before, and never felt nervous, but with the sleeve, I was anxious for a good week before. Then it happened, and I am now 8 months post op. Had a pretty good recovery, wasn't as bad as I imagined it to be. Good luck in 4 days time! Let us know how you went. Best Wishes to you- New topic time...
@ Love the Witcher. I have all 3 parts plus some DLCs. I only just started, but the graphics are fantastic, story is good, and plenty of amorous scenes as the Witcher charms the ladies, or females seduce him. Plenty of action in this game, and often you have to be very quick. I just love the First Person Role Playing games and the Shooting/Survivor/Adventure games. It is like being in a movie. So, I am sure you will like the Witcher. If you don't mind bit of horror and plenty of adventure, Frictional's games such as Soma and Amnesia Descent into Darkness are just mind blowing. Awesome games!- New topic time...
@@Sai I play the games on both Mac and PC. I loved some of the older ones, like Amnesia the Descent into Darkness, all Penumbra series including Necrologue that I seriously got stuck on, half way through the Twilight of the Archaic. I also loved Bioshock 1. Started on Bioshock 2, and need to spend more time in the manual, as some of the keybindings have changed, and I am not that great with the drill ..... Give me machine guns, grenade launchers, Napalm etc., anytime! Absolutely loved SOMA. Played it twice. I am half way through Outlast, and just started on the Witcher ...... LOL Loved Layers of Fear and the Inheritance. It was nice not to worry if you're going to die, for a change. And many more. Started playing those games when I got sick with my thyroid. They kept me occupied and often I would forget how lousy I felt ....... Let me know if you are on Steam.- Killian's Gastric Sleeve Journey
Yes, stupid Graves ..... I saw my Endo 3-4 weeks post op, then blood tests every 6 weeks, next Endo appointment was 3 months later. Still have 6 weekly blood tests, and still see her every 3 months. She also communicates with me via phone and email. I finally sleep better, my blood pressure and heart rate has come down. Prior to that, I had to go back on beta blockers and sleeping tablets, as the hyper state kept me awake at nights for months! As Thyroxine is so very weight sensitive, each significant drop in weight was bringing hyper thyroid back for me. Now, even though I sleep much longer and much better, I am still tired, still have awful headaches and really bad allergies. All hypo symptoms. So, this next med adjustment may finally do the trick ...... I hope so! Got to keep an eye on the thyroid post op, that's for sure.- Killian's Gastric Sleeve Journey
Awesome @@Killian ! Glad you are doing well, and that your surgery will be at a convenient time for you. Must be great feeling to look forward to retirement next year This will be so beneficial for your recovery! So, best of luck for July 2017! I've had a pretty smooth recovery. I am almost 8 months post op, unbelievable how quickly the time flew! The only major issues I had were/are my thyroid disease, Graves. Because I was losing lot of weight, I had to keep having dose adjustments, as I ended up hyper-thyroid few times. Not pleasant ..... Recently my Thyroxine has been halved, 6 weeks ago, and I was told today that my TSH and labs are normal. Well, I have not been feeling well in the past 6 weeks, and had many hypo issues. TSH at 3.4 seems too high for me, so this now will be the 4th adjustment, to bring it to 1.0 One day, hopefully it will get stabilised. Good luck with your thyroid too, Killian. Thanks for the update! Cheers, Margo - Beating yourself up
