  1. @@Christy5913 And you too, look so young. The weight gain made me look like my grandmother. The weight loss takes 15-20 years off our faces!
  2. Found a couple more Befores. Couldn't stand having photos taken, and then looking at them ..... Before: After 6 months post sleeve:
  3. OK, I found couple more Before pics. Forgot I had them, as I couldn't stand looking at them. So here we go, I decided to be brave ..... Before: After 6 months post sleeve:
  4. @@Christy5913 You're a Legend! What an amazing and beautiful transformation! Fabulous and awesome!
  5. Hugs and kisses to you ! Yes, definitely a big Yes to a brighter future! I will now work to combine the last 2 photos to post on your Transformation Tuesday post, together with my yucky before ones ....
  6. @@Christy5913 Yes, those toilets want to be memorable ...... Thank you for the well wishes, and hip, hip hooray to your continuing success too. You look awesome!
  7. @@leonelbreton You rock, together with your jeans! Awesome stuff, and well done!!!
  8. @@doingitmyway Thank you! Yes, you have done great! The 8-10 Ibs per month loss is a good loss. I was told the same. With regular and steady loss (not super fast) I have healthy hair (no hair loss) and the only loose skin I have is in my upper arms. So, count your blessings. At 3 months post op I saw my face was changing and I could cross my legs, and the weight loss was noticeable. Now, at 6 months post op, the change is even bigger and better. You will get there. It takes time, but it happens. So, be happy to steadily plod along. All the best!
  9. I find it hard to take a full body selfie. Here is one below, the toilet is stealing the show ..... LOL May need to ask someone to take a full body shot for me. And another face shot. My eyes are back!
  10. Good luck with that. Have you tried dough-nut style cushions or pregnancy cushions, they protect your coccyx. I used them at seminars if they were long and chairs were uncomfortable, and this was in my pre-weight gain days. They worked for me.
  11. @@MissB1982 I know you said you were not on any medication, however the weight loss could have made you more hyper thyroid. So, hope you will get an answer soon, and treatment for your symptoms. Good luck!
  12. @@MissB1982 Glad you are seeing your Endo. I have Graves Disease (Hyper thyroid). It is genetic, but I was diagnosed with it pre Sleeve, as part of the tests pre op. I've walked around with it for decades ..... This put my surgery back for 9 months to get my thyroid stabilised. I tried anti-thyroid drugs but this was taking too long, so I was on Beta Blockers and had RAI done last year (radioactive iodine) to destroy my thyroid. 4 months later I went hypo, and was put on Thyroxine (Synthroid) 100mcg. After my sleeve early March 2016 I started noticing that I wasn't sleeping well again, and my bad headaches came back. In May my Thyroxine dose was reduced. I was OK for a while, but with continuous weight loss, the Hyper thyroid symptoms came back: bad insomnia, awful headaches, high blood pressure and racing pulse, sweats. My TSH was back to less than 0.01 again! I saw my Endo last week, and she reduced my Thyroxine to 50 mcg (half dose). She told me to have a week off Thyroxine, to stop it completely, and re-start it at 50 mcg this coming Friday. I also had to go back on Beta Blockers to lower down heart rate and blood pressure. She confirmed that with weight-loss, this affects the med dose. It is very weight sensitive. So far I am starting to sleep better, and my vitals have improved, rare headaches now and still bit hot at times. @@MissB1982 I hope you get your answers from your Endo. You sound quite Hyper thyroid to me. It can put a strain on the heart, and the whole condition is very unpleasant. There are anti-thyroid meds, such as Carbimazole, plus Beta Blockers to slower the heart rate, and there is RAI: Radioactive Iodine Tx. Good luck, and let us know how you went.
  13. @@olliesoda I was crapping myself for a whole week prior surgery ..... Then it finally happened, and I was OK! Good luck for tomorrow! The new you is waiting for you
  14. @@judy vsg What is your Protein intake? Are you eating enough Proteins? At that time, post op I was hungry too, and had to eat regularly every 3 hrs, if I went over 3-4 hrs, I was practically starving. So I had to have Breakfast, then later a snack (protein), then lunch, then snack (protein), then dinner and another snack for supper. Later on my hunger went away, alas at 6 months, it is coming back, so I need very regular meals again. I was and still am measuring my portions, and tracking my proteins on MFP. And of course maintaining fluids. Good luck!
  15. Wow and Wow !!! What an amazing change, you look a different person. Awesome work. Congratulations!
  16. @@sha_sha_Lucas I am glad that different med is working for you! It is such a relief, isn't it? Now, 6 months post op I am able to wean myself of Nexium now. Only take it every 4-5 days, and I am fine. As to the choc muffin, well I fall of the wagon at times with ice-cream or frozen yoghurt. At least it only happens once a month or so, instead of daily in the past. Providing we get back to the healthy food ASAP, the weight loss can stall for a while after indulging, but then it starts to fall off again.
  17. @@Katieisin Hi and welcome! You're only 3 weeks post op! Stomach takes 6 months to heal. Welcome to your first stall, the 3rd week stall. You'll get through it. There will be other stalls, then more weight loss. It is part and parcel of recovery. Hope you get a script for acid reflux. Mine was really bad, and nothing else helped me except Nexium. Now, 6 months post op acid is gone. Also, I just had another stall that lasted over 3 weeks, but is shifting now. Below is a link to another forum here on Stalls. Great reading! http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1102-dont-sweat-the-stall-stuff/ Good luck!
  18. I threw up my scrambled egg. Not game to try even poached yet, at 6 months post op.
  19. I was at home, in Sydney, and I was supposed to be flying out to LA and New York later on that day. Instead, I ended up watching TV all day, and chatting with my friend on the phone, who was supposed to be on the trip with me. We were shocked, scared, tearful and very worried. It was a very emotional day and evening for us. The world changed that day! R.I.P all the innocent victims
  20. My NUT suggested adding a Protein powder to a drink at night, when I was still on liquids. I also found a hot chicken broth helpful. These days if I can't sleep, I have bit of yoghurt (Chobani greek yoghurt is high protein), cottage cheese ..... yes, I like it Or anything healthy that is protein. Still have chicken broth at times.
  21. @@doingitmyway I lost 64 Ib (29 kg). Probably would have lost bit more, but I was bit slack with my exercises lately. I gained 90 Ib (41 kg) in 2 years 2014-2016 partly due to my Graves Disease (hyper-thyroid) doing 180 degree turn, and mucking up my metabolism. I developed awful sweet and fatty foods cravings, so I had a massive, rapid weight gain. I would love to lose another 33 Ib. My weight loss has slowed down a bit when I hit 6 months post op. So, I am plodding along .....
  22. I had full blood panel done pre-op, then 3 months post op, and another one 12 months post op (not there yet). No deficiencies, all perfect at 3 months post op (June 2016). Yes, diligently been taking Bariatric Vitamins with B12 in a spray, plus Calcium. At 4-5 months post op I went back to my regular Multivitamin, still take Calcium, B12 spray and added vit C. I feel good, my hair is good, no hair loss, skin is healthy too. My face is glowing, just have bit of a loose skin in my upper arms.
  23. Prior my sleeve, I rarely had heartburn. Post op I had it really bad, and the Rabeprazole I was given did not help me. My reflux was getting worse, so I asked for Nexium (Esomeprazole) script, and this fixed it. I am now 6 months post op, and the reflux is gone. I am taking Nexium now every 4-5 days (instead of daily), and will go off it soon. Good luck.
  24. Congratulations! You look gorgeous and awesome, and yes sooooooo much younger! Well done! Look forward to your update at 6 months
