Phoenix40 got a reaction from Ravensgrl in Looking for support
    Hi,
I am 22 months out and my cravings and bad habits came back at around 15 months out. I slowly started trying different foods and adding in bad food. I stopped logging my food, drinking my Water, got lazy taking my Vitamins and medication. By November first I realized how far off track I had gotten and I stepped on the scale for the first time in months. I had a 30lb regain, which crushed me. I changed some things and got rid of the bad food in the house and went back to basics. I struggle a bit through Thanksgiving and vacation after that but I managed to drop 14lbs. While I was happy about this, I knew I needed to really deal with my emotional eating habits. The first year was easy because I had no cravings. I really believed that I had it under control but I did not. I now realized that this is where the hard work starts. I started reading a book called Never Binge again which has helped me immensely...enough that I now know that I can hit my goal weight this year and that I have a plan and processes in place to help me when I am tempted. I purchased an inspirational food journal that helps me in the sense that it not just focused on food intake and macros. It's more about having a healthy outlook, mind and body. I had joined several bariatric groups on FB but I did not participate much. Now I spend a part of my morning in those groups communicating with various people. I also started a blog, which is terrifying, to be as transparent to myself as possible and also hold myself accountable for my food decisions, good or bad. We can do this...we just never give up and keep going when we have a set back. You can never fail unless you quit.

My surgeon gave me the same option either would be approved. He told me he recommended the sleeve and if years later I hadn’t lost enough with sleeve I could do revision to rny. Revision!! My plan is to have one surgery, not a potential second. Also I have pretty bad gerd after telling him that he suggested it would be best for rny, he said if I suffer it would be worse after sleeve. 5 day until surgery!!

I am right there with you. I have been snacking and eating more than I should. I know a big part of my problem is prepping and planning. I have put myself on a new regimen. A Protein Shake within 30 mins of waking up and then Zumba 20 mins after drinking. It's been going well and I feel more in control during the day. I will email my doctor for a referral to therapy since I feel that I need some extra help to stay on track. You are not alone. Keep trying and fighting for it. You never fail unless you quit.

Haven't been on in a while but I am doing well! I hot my first goal this morning and I am finally under 300lbs. I am so happy I made the decision to do the surgery. It is hard work and the struggle is real at times but it is sloop worth it!
    How are you?

Not quite the same thing but I watch My 600lb Life every week. I don't 100% know what I get from it, but I do empathize and feel grateful I am not that far gone. Maybe it does help healing. Interesting perspective.

I think that's what it is with me too. Also, I want to give them all this knowledge I have acquired.. But from personal experience I know they will have the same reaction I did and they won't accept until they are ready to on their own time. I just hate that I am so "judge-y" about it. Because I know there were people who were judge-y to me. Congrats on the surgery btw!!! It's an amazing feeling, isn't it??? I am 5 months out, 130 lbs down!!!

My date is March 27th and I get more anxious the closer I get to the date. I know I'm doing it for the right reasons but I've never had surgery before and that scares me. I have my preop appt on the 9th and they'll do blood tests and an EKG. Then I'll meet with the Nut. I have a whole list of questions that I plan to ask the surgeon and the nutritionist.

It took 5 days for me to have BM after surgery. The first couple of days I dont think I was eating enough to have a BM. My doctor prescribed stool softeners and I started taking them my second night home.

I had my heart set on the sleeve. My surgeon also stated that it was my decision but that he would recommend the bypass based on how much I weigh and the amount of weight I want to lose. After a lot and of thought, I decided to follow his recommendation.
