I hope all is well with everyone.
I had my surgery in July 8, 2008 in PA. I had not complications or other issues until summer of 2014. I had a small slip. I was unfilled and the band reset itself back in place.
In late July 2015, I had another slip. My new surgeon in NC, didn't want to unfill it at that time.
I started experiencing heartburn, lower back pain, gas, bloating and other digestive issues.
My surgeon did some xrays and we decided that it must come out. He asked if I wanted a revision and I informed him that I didn't want a revision.
I had my band removed on October 26, 2015.
All went well; surgery and recovery. I was put of work for 8 weeks following the surgery due my highly physical hib. My doc wanted to be certain that there wouldn't be any further issues.
All in all, I have lost 130lbs of fat and I have put on 10 lbs of muscle.
I have kept the weight off mostly by walking, a lot of dancing, calisthenics and eating well.
I burn a lot of calories with dancing, so I actually eat more than I used to just much better.
I hope everyone has a wonderful new year.
Take care!

I haven't been here in quite a while and this place never ceases to amaze me. I'm not active enough to participate at this time but this is such a wonderful idea. I love how supportive this community is of one another. Take care all.

Hey,
I just logged in just to see who has tried this as well. I'm taking my measurements and pictures tomorrow, and am doing the fit test as well. I plan on starting this coming Monday.

I'm new to Charlotte, originally from NY. How are you doing?

I'm so silly. It's been a long summer. I hope all of you are doing well. I'm doing well. I just reached 125 lbs down. I finally got my first goal gift; My Dooney & Bourke purse that I've been patiently waiting for. My boyfriend was being a sweetheart and bought it for me. I'll try to log in every so often. A lot has changed around here.
Take care!

hello ladies,
Happy Mother's Day!
I'm doing well. I made it through another crazy semester at school. I have a few weeks off, then back to summer school. I hope all is well with all of you.
Take care!

At this point, I don't want children anymore. I won't be alive to raise them.

Oh of course, somethings just have waaaay more calories than necessary. One of those things that surprise you.
Get a life!

We're all grown, we know how to watch our own calories.

I feel like these shows are made to exploit the people trying to lose weight. When the biggest loser first started, it was about the people losing weight. Now it's all about marketing dollars. Every scene has some type of product placement and it takes away from the purpose of the show.

For some reason I can no longer watch these weight loss shows. I used to watch the biggest loser religiously and I've tried to get into this show and the show I Used to Be Fat on mtv and I just can't watch them.

Hello Ladies,
I'm sorry that I haven't posted here in a while. It's been a very hectic month. I usually come to this site via my phone, but since it's a real piece of poop, I had to find time to use my computer instead. Christmas weekend I went the entire weekend without heat and hot Water (14 degree days and colder nights). I complained to my landlord on Dec 26th, and he went ape shit on me. He cussed me out and called me all types of horrible names, that I will not repeat. In his tirade, he also told me that I need to "get the F***" out of his apartment, and find another place to live. I have been in this apt for about two years. I pay my rent on time, if not, early. In October 2010, he told me that I was one of the best tenants that he'd ever had, and he would give me $200 off of my December 2010 rent, so go figure.
So since then, I have been apartment hunting and packing. School started last week, my car died the day before, so I've been commuting 4 hours a day to and from school this past week, and will do so for the next two weeks. I live in the boondocks, so public transit is hard to come by around here.
I have been maintaining my weight loss. I've been too tired to eat. I am however, walking 5+ miles per day during my commute, so I am getting some exercise. I will be moving at the end of next week, so my commute will not be as bad. I'm still trying to navigate through this new site. I see that they removed some sections of the forum, and added others.
I hope all is well with you all. Talk to you soon.

I'm glad to hear that the band is working properly for you. Good luck with the rest of your journey.

Did you get a letter from your primary doctor? If not, you should. That may help as well.
