    Rice? Pasta? Bread?

Nope, not a good idea. They are the forbidden carbs. Lori

    Finally on the other side.

Wow impressive! I don't know much about this, I am only 1 month out after my sleeve. Lori
  3. I forgot to reply to this, in the first two weeks Doc said no motrin but now he said it's alright. Motrin is for inflammation as well as pain. Tylenol is only for pain. Another thing, my main incision is on my right side where they took out the stomach to sleeve it. How odd the difference. Now I understand all your previous posts Paul. Lori
  4. I sent you a private message Lori
  5. Paul, my doc had me start taking motrin and it's helped a lot. I'm surprised your left side hurts and not the right side. Lori
  6. Happy 1 month post op! I hope you're all doing good. I know I have felt noticeably better in this last week. Lori
  7. If I may offer some tips on the pre surgery. Get some unflavored Protein and mix in 2 scoops with a regular size box of sugar free pudding and do the same with sugar free pudding. Then pour 1/2 cup in little bowls. Makes 5 servings. Its considered liquid, it's protein too. When making Jello. Dissolve Gelatin in one cup boiling Water and the other cup required mix Protein powder until smooth. Let hot gelatin cool a little before mixing the two together. As jello sets up the bottom of dish looks cloudy but taste the same. It really breaks up the day of just shakes. Keep in mind these will be the same food you'll eat after surgery as well. Good luck! Lori
  8. I don't have any bariatric products either. I made the chili with a can of Rotel brand tomatoes with green chilis and didn't use any tomato Soup as it called for. I had to improvise. Honestly I like chili but hate tomato soup or tomato juice. There's an idea too use tomato juice instead of tomato soup. But cumin spice and chili powder would be a must. Read the recipes, get some ideas and improvise with other stuff. Just watch your sugar and fat grams. Remember your eating a small amount so it should be fine. Lori
  9. I am almost 4 weeks post surgery. Will be doing soft food this week. My doc says no drinking 30 mins before, during, after meals. meat and scrambled eggs were painful and often came back. It does get better as time goes on. I discovered making ground lean hamburger cooked, and then put through a chopper,in small pot add can of rotel tomatoes, can of kidney Beans, cumin. Chili powder. After blan foods this chili tasted good to me. Thought I could eat some later but my 23 old son apparently liked it too. Cottage cheese was something I could eat without puree ing it. I added fruit cups in Water, (of course drained) to change it up. Did you see the recipes on this site? If you click on upper left corner of this app. Its all trial and error at this point. Hope I help a little. Lori

    Bad Taste!

I am nearly 4 weeks post op for the sleeve. I am having same issues if I eat meat or scrambled eggs. It comes back up after several minutes. I think my stomach is just not ready for it yet. Lori

    The struggle is real.

I'm there with you all. 3/30 sleeve, down 25 lbs and stalled now. Glad to hear on here that it normal. Thsnks! Lori
  12. Good luck! Wednesday will be my 4 week post. Lori
  13. Yes I did the 2 weeks of liquid pre surgery. I was instructed to buy unflavored Protein and make Jello and pudding adding 2 scoops of unflavored protein to it. Also cream of wheat. I added a Splenda pkt and cinnamon. Also Dannon light and fit yogurt. Unsweetened applesauce. I also used unflavored protein mixed with Crystal light. And of course choc. Protein shakes. I was told the purpose was to help shrink your liver for surgery. Apparently it gets in the way reaching the stomach for surgery. Hope this helps. Lori
  14. Ok, I'm at 70g here. Just wondered if everyone was about the same. It sure is hard to get it in on a daily basis. I cannot get any more Protein shakes down. Lori
  15. Hey guys, how much Protein are you suppose to get daily? Lori
  16. Gosh I can't imagine feeling up to going back to work that soon, let alone the gear. No wonder your tender getting in and out of car with the gear on. I commend you for toughing it out. Lori
  17. Yes bending down to tie my shoes is a killer, especially right side. Paul what do you do that you wear gear? How soon did you go back? Lori
  18. Well hopefully it goes away sooner than later. I find that I can't sleep on my left side because it causes cramps on my right side. Lori
  19. Is anyone still having muscle spasms/Charlie horse cramps on right side of abdomen? I can not sit in a sitting position without getting them. I'm 2.5 weeks out of surgery and the incision is healed, hard but not sore. I can only stand or lay to be comfortable. Any thoughts? Lori
  20. Just wanted to add, that our emotions are all out wack due to extreme diet change. I had my sleeve surgery March 30th. I still don't think I've reached 64 oz. And I have to have 70 grams of Protein a day. Although the nutritionist did not agree, a nurse called about 5 days after my surgery and said to Guage your fluids by the color of your urine. The lighter the better. Dietitian reminded me dehydration is the top reason for returns to hospital after surgery. I too struggle to get it all in and wonder how it will fit with work when I return. I just have to remind myself that so many others have done this successfully. I made this decision and I will see it through. I did just order the book mentioned here, thank you! Hang in there with me Lori

    Self doubt

I am set to have surgery on Wednesday the 30th. I am contemplating backing out. I am starting in to doubt myself if this is the right decision. I have been on a liquid diet for almost 2 weeks and it's difficult. I cheated and had some easter chocolate. I'm afraid of failing at this surgery commitment. I'm afraid I will and hear a bunch of family say "told you so" because we hear often times people put the weight back on. Has anyone here backed out at the last minute? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  22. I tried just Tylenol for 3 days but was pretty miserable. Started back on tramadol today and had more energy. Lori
  23. Yes I am still very sore too. Lori
  24. Yes, me too. My doc said nausea would go away if I got off narcotic pain relievers. Im using just Tylenol now. I think it limits me feeling good though obviously. What helps is the elastic stretch band around my waist. It was given 5o me in hospital. Did you get one? Lori
  25. How is everyone doing now since being home? Lori
