Just take it one step at a time. Write out a list of what you need to do and what to buy and cross them off as you do it. You will see it's not that overwhelming.
Don't worry about getting the wrong things. As time goes by you will figure out what you like and what works for you.
You can do it
Thank you. I have started a list. I just went shopping on Amazon for all my Vitamins. Also bought a food scale that goes lower than my current one. Next on my list.... slippers and food lol.

@@KristenLe No - but I think I am going to make one. I don't want to start off on the wrong foot. I have a heart condition and was seeing their nutritionist during preop stuff so I didn't have to see the one at the bariatric clinic.

@@beyondgrief There idea of "examples" was 1 oz Protein, 1 oz starch for Breakfast (1 oz yogurt, 1 oz oatmeal). It is just to vague to me. What if I buy the wrong yogurt or oatmeal?? lunch example 1oz Protein, 1 oz veggie (1 oz cream Soup, 1 oz v8 juice). dinner 1oz protein 1 oz fruit (1 oz sugar free pudding, 1 oz grape juice).

I went to my presurgery appointment today. I am scheduled for the sleeve on 6/29. They went over diet, Vitamins, what to expect, etc.... The packet of information they gave me is SO overwhelming. I am a black and white person, and all these options are driving me insane. I don't know where to start with what to buy to have at home for when I get home from surgery... my surgeon does a clear/full liquid diet. I don't know which Vitamins to buy, each type of Vitamin has several options! This almost makes me want to not have surgery, I feel like I am already failing.

I had my gallbladder out over a year ago. I am preop still. Funny story thought first time I went to the ER they told me my bra was too tight and the underwire was hurting me lol.

I was wondering if the gas pain is similar to gallbladder surgery. I had my gallbladder out and the gas pain sucked but it was tolerable. I did not take any gas x strips or anything. Is sleeve surgery similar?

Hello! I was just wondering if anyone has pcos and has been sleeved and was able to get pregnant later on down the road. I have a 3 year old but we had to go through fertility treatments to get him. I am hoping it will be much easier once I am sleeved and at goal weight when we try again. I know this won't be till at least a year post op, just wondering if anyone has been able to.

I had the gastric sleeve done 2 and 1/2 years ago and I lost 70 pounds. I have kept it off and I love my sleeve. I follow my diet and I'm very comfortable with the sleeve but unfortunately I have developed severe Reflux and Gerd and no amount of medications helps me. I am going to do a revision to a bypass just to keep from getting esophageal cancer. I prefer the Sleeve and I'm sad I'm having to get the bypass but I have no choice at this point. For all of you who are undecided, if you have heartburn or acid reflux, go with the bypass, otherwise the sleeve is awesome. I'll be doing my revision in August.
Did you have reflex prior to surgery?

Nope. Found out mine is on hold due to my heart condition and they have to get my cardiologists ok. My cardiologist just left the practice on 4/29 lol.... So not sure what's going on now.

I am dying over here! Been away approval for a week and two days. I checked my referral online and one thing is approved and the other part in process. I feel like the longer I wait the more nervous I get! Ahh!!!

Thanks everyone. For some reason this is the hardest thing for me and I have been working on it so I get used to it.

I am still preop but have heard about a lot of people having sleeve and winding up having to get it revised, but not sure why? I'm leaning more towards the sleeve but am now second guessing myself worried I'd have to get it revised

Hey everyone! I am still preop with no surgery date yet, I am currently taking a preop skills class. I am just wondering because it crossed my mind-can you take medicine after surgery? I know a lot of people get taken off most meds but I have a heart condition that I will be on the meds for life. What about birth control? I do not want any birth control implants anywhere lol. Thanks all!

I know every hospital is different. But tomorrow I start my pre-op skills class. I go for six weeks every other week. What type of things should I expect at the class? My insurance only requires three months of surprised weight loss. I have one more appointment on April 27th. My last pre-op class is May 3rd. Do you do a diet during the class of liquids? Do you submit for health insurance approval during the class? I'm so nervous.
