    Ladies, please help!

@@hernewselfie The hormones released by burning fat are probably what is to blame. It's important to rule out an infection though (the smell would concern me). Hope you feel better soon!!!

    Dehydration weight gain

@@skeewee You should be worried - dehydration is dangerous. If it is impacting your kidneys - then it's critical that you increase your fluids. The weight gain is not unusual - but it's not what you should be concerned about.

    4th day post op

@@Joy@boman It's still very early and not unusual for you to feel crappy still. Concentrate on fluids - that's most important. Try something with electrolytes (Powerade Zero, G2) and some broth (sodium). Hang in there!!!
  7. Keep walking. Try warm fluids and see if that's better. I did well with tea. I was also hospitalized 3 days for nausea though.

Help am I Eating to much

@@westonmark It's not likely you will stretch your stomach - especially on full liquids. They move through your sleeve quickly. I would be sure to measure your food and only eat the suggested portion size. I am not sure what that is with full liquids but your paperwork should say so. I am on mushy foods and am allowed 1-2ozs every 2.5-3 hrs. I think you can have more full liquids.

    3 weeks tomorrow and lost....

Are you taking anything? Zofran works well. If you're on something that isn't working- ask that they change it.
  10. KristenLe

    Hungry

Be sure you are taking a PPI (acid reducer) and drinking plenty of fluids. Increased stomach acid can mimic hunger - and dehydration can as well. Are you able to eat anything at this stage?

I was able to shower but I didn't have a drain. I do have 6 incisions though.

    Psychological evaluation

It's not bad at all. They ask about eating habits, depression and anxiety, social history, previous diet attempts, support systems, etc. Just be honest and take advantage of any advice given.
  14. You shouldn't have to. Have they run any tests to make sure you don't have any complications? I know that it's not unusual to need 6-8 weeks recovery.

    3 weeks tomorrow and lost....

I had alot of nausea and take zofran. Sleeved 10/18. Sorry you had a leak - that's scary.
  16. I would consider not going along with this recommendation. Only because I wouldn't want to be dealing with carb withdrawal Post-op. I found pre-op of liquids helped me to prepare for post-op. Carb load is one thing if you're running a marathon - I don't think surgery requires a carb load. If you decide to go for it - let us know how you feel post-op.

    Amount to eat

It depends how far out you are but at the puree stage - I'm supposed to start with 1-2 ozs working up to 4ozs by 6 weeks. 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup is fairly typical for a while I believe. 1oz = 2 Tbsp. I eat with a tiny spoon and take very small bites. You should eat over no more than 20 mins.
  18. Call and demand an appointment or go to the ER.

    Meds after surgery

@@thikkay You probably won't be able to have advil but Tylenol is not a problem. I was swallowing pills while in the hospital - they just need to be tablets (no capsules) and no bigger than an M&M. I bought liquid tylenol for immediate post-op but it was so sweet I just couldn't do it.

    I'm excited and nervous

@@jwidner Please don't be disappointed - we usually gain weight after surgery with all of the fluids from the IVs and swelling. Concentrate on getting in your fluids and Protein - don't worry so much about the scale at this point! Good luck at your appointment!
  23. @@KaiserKid You're not crazy. I have a fear of failing as well. I bet many of us do. It's a full-time job to eat and drink at first - but I am assuming it becomes more routine at some point. I never thought I'd be able to stick with the pre-op diet and I did - 100% without cheating at all. I really think that helped me be prepared for post-op. I'm only a little more than a week post-op - but things are easier than I expected (so far anyway). I'm just taking it one day at a time.

    For women only

@@jwidner It's very common. As you burn fat, it is releasing hormones that were stored - creating some issues with your cycle and moods.

    Any October 2016 Sleevers?

Be sure to concentrate on fluids first - right now that's most important. Ask your Dr about something for the nausea if you're not already taking anything.
