    Post op

@Proud2Bme. Some post op diets include protein shakes in clear liquid stage. Every program seems a little different.
  2. Alot of places require a Drs note if out for more than 3-5 days. Be sure your Surgeon will release you that soon. I agree with @@Christinamo7 filling out FMLA paperwork is a good idea (if you're eligible). I would be very careful going back too soon.

Wow...Congrats! You look damn good! Not to be too personal but did you need any plastic surgery?

How long does it take to fall in love?

    Yikes.
  5. @@KLEE12216 You and I have very similar stats (5'2" 289lbs). I am just beginning my journey - but I think if I had lost 35lbs in 6 weeks I would be extremely happy! I read a lot of posts from others talking about how much more they've lost in relatively short time periods and I think - I hope I can do that - but realistically I'm sure I won't. Anyway - from my research and reading alot of people's advice who have been successful - you don't seem to be eating enough Protein or drinking enough. Be careful with sodium too - canned vegetables or Soups can be packed with sodium. I look forward to see your continued success - especially since we're on a similar journey. Just think - if you continue at this pace - you'll be at goal in another 5-6 months! :-) I'm going with the hope to lose 150 lbs by the time I'm 50 (I'm turning 48 next month).

How long does it take to fall in love?

I feel called to say "bullshit!". He sounds like a jerk - online probably trying to get someone to sext with him (maybe even married). Anyone who claims to be called to join a monastery would not be on a dating site. I met some scam artists and losers online dating but I also met sincere, nice guys - and ended up with one! I'm sorry you dealt with this - but don't let it discourage you! Be extra careful and don't hesitate to Google the person or check Facebook. I was chatting with a guy for weeks and finally looked him up and saw a lovely wedding photo of him and his wife (and confirmed that they were still together on FB).

    Returning to work

My surgeon recommends 4 weeks - but said I could reasonably go back after 2 weeks. I'm taking as much time as possible (because I can for one) because I think it'll be easier with the post-op diet to be at home and have time to prepare and also to exercise (especially if I'm dealing with the emotions others have experienced). Remember - this is major surgery and it takes time to recover! Don't push yourself!
  10. I'm sorry for your loss! It truly is messed up and priorities are backwards!

How fast do you see results

Think about that..6lbs a week. That's a great loss! You should be proud of yourself. Congrats!
  12. Someone recommended this book. I downloaded it to my Kindle and have just started but I was told it was excellent. In reading alot of posts in this forum - it seems this feeling happens to everyone for a period of time. Reach out to friends or family for support and talk to a counselor if you feel like you're not doing better. You are at great age to start fresh - I wish I did something when I was younger. Stay strong & positive! You got this! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0054RXXS0/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?ie=UTF8&btkr=1 Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App

    Fatty Acid Imbalance?

Your symptoms don't sound like fibromyalgia. If I were you, I'd go to a Rheumatologist. They should be ruling out other causes before you look into a pain management program. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App

    Protein intake?!?

Protein shakes are part of my clear liquid stage too. Said I'd be drinking them in the hospital. I think it's important to have someone with you when getting instructions too - it's all so hard to remember and then you think - did they say I could have that or did I read it somewhere else. Protein is important immediately. I bought a few protein waters to try. I also found some chicken stock that has a fair amount of protein. I love chicken broth now - I hope I still do after surgery. Cpap questions

    Cpap questions

What kind of mask do you have? You may just have a cold but you could also be sleeping with your mouth open which could cause a sore throat. Also be sure to have enough humidity (my machine has a built in humidifier and I can adjust it) and clean the filter frequently (especially if you have animals).
