KristenLe replied to erik78's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree with possible gallbladder. I also waited until it was an emergency. -

Beautiful and inspirational for someone at the same starting weight! -
@@Ruby81 The post-op diet is prescribed for your safety. Eating off plan (regular food) can cause significant complications - some life threatening! This is not something to take lightly. I hope you don't have any problems.

Could you have just the veggies then? I think you'll feel better if you stick with your pre-op diet. You've got this!!! -
11 months post opt. Gastric Sleeve
KristenLe replied to Csnow82's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look great and HAPPY!!! Congrats! -
You can eat burritos and burgers - although it's not advisable to eat the roll (or even the tortilla) until you have been through the weight loss period. You can have the refried Beans, cheese, etc as soon as your allowed purees or soft food so that will help you not to feel deprived. The quantity of your meals will be very small so you'll need to concentrate on Protein first. The only things suggested to stay away from long-term (forever) on my plan is bread, Pasta and rice. I'm surprised you haven't already received this info from your surgeon with a surgery so soon. Best of luck!

Will it mess up my surgery?
KristenLe replied to GettinSlim80's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@GettinSlim80 It is probably loaded with sodium and may interfere with your weight loss. I certainly wouldn't bother risking it - you've come this far - stay strong! @@GettinSlim80 What are you allowed on pre-op diet? -
@@pdallariva Go to the ER. You need nutrition and hydration. Your Dr sounds like an ass!

I think you need an RX. You could try adding some potassium rich foods to your diet (or Powerade Zero) and see if it helps. I just had to get an RX for potassium because mine was low (pre-op). My legs would kill me.

Are pickles okay?
KristenLe replied to taylorelaine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@taylorelaine Be sure there's no added sugar and because of the sodium don't have too many. -
Are you getting enough potassium and fluids?

Any 7/14's- post op?
KristenLe replied to reducer623's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@LA_lady It sounds like it could be acid rather than hunger. Maybe a different acid reducer would be better. Are you still drinking protein shakes? My plan has me eating every 3 hours - but for the first 6 weeks I'm supposed to keep drinking 3 protein shakes too. How you feel should not be the new norm! -
Any 7/14's- post op?
KristenLe replied to reducer623's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm hungry all the time. Even after i eat I'll be hungry 1-2 hrs after. All I eat is Protein so not sure what the problem is... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Do you take an acid reducer? If you drink Water at that time - does the "hunger" go away? If this continues - talk to your surgeon. -

@@jessjames That's how my Nana lived - her bathroom cabinet mirrors were always open so she didn't get a reflection of herself (old). I find myself doing the same. I can't look in the mirror while getting my hair done either. -

@@CLN.BK Acid Reducer Proton-pump inhibitors are a group of drugs whose main action is a pronounced and long-lasting reduction of gastric acid production. Within the class of medications, there is no clear evidence that one agent works better than another.

You've lost alot in a short time. Your body needs to adjust. The scale may not always move but your body is changing (take measurements). Congrats! -
How's your blood work? Any Vitamin deficiencies? Protein seems to have an impact more than Biotin.

You might be dehydrated or have low potassium if your legs are bothering you more than usual.
