    Ulcer?

@@Daisee68 Do you still have your gallbladder? It could be an ulcer - I would call Bariatric Dr and see what they say.

    gas pain

Are you taking a PPI for stomach acid? It sounds like that may be the problem. What are you allowed on your plan? You are only a few days post-op so take it easy and concentrate on fluids and protein.

    Driving Home from Surgery?

Can someone drive you? With a few stops to move around - you would probably be ok as a passenger. Driving yourself that soon might not be a great idea but confirm with your surgical team.

    Feeling no energy

Be sure to meet your Protein and Fluid amounts and take Vitamins. If you're on meds for your blood pressure - they may need adjusting too. You've been through major surgery - you'll be exhausted for a while.

    Ups and Downs

Sounds like you're doing great! Increase your fluids and be sure to meet protein guidelines and you'll continue to lose. Don't compare weight loss to your husband - they unfairly lose faster!
  6. Start a list of all the things you want to do after weight loss and keep it somewhere visible to review when need that extra boost! Try different protein and veggies so you don't feel like you're deprived. Eat 5-6 small meals a day about 3 hrs in between and tons of non caloric drinks. Distract yourself when you have a craving - go for a walk, paint your nails, color, read, garden, etc. You can do it! Stay strong!

    2nd day out question

Try and drink a small amount every 15-20 mins. You could put protein powder in fluids - it might be easier to drink than a thick shake.

    2nd day out question

Just continue to sip - you'll get there. Try crystal light, broth, Powerade Zero, sugar free popsicles, decaf tea, etc. Good luck!

    Any smokers out there?

Our Program had a woman who returned to smoking shortly after sleeve surgery and ended up with a large ulcer that caused a hole in her stomach and required emergency surgery. As @@Babbs said - I wouldn't go thru WLS to get healthy only to continue smoking. Makes no sense to me!
  10. @@SoExcited101 You look gorgeous! Just look at your flawless skin!!!! Your weight loss is amazing and inspirational! Congrats!
  11. It's good in my opinion - I could diet for a year and not lose that amount. Stalls are normal and slow loss is not a bad thing at all - it's going in the right direction. Just hang in there.

    Clean plate syndrome

Use small plates with smaller portions.

    Burping and feel no restriction

That's a sign of being full. Are you measuring and keeping to the suggested amounts?
  14. @@phazer08 The RNs are usually the ones to provide education. Thankfully you had great nurses! I have already been told about the no drinking the first 24 hrs and I'm actually dreading the leak test more than anything.
  15. @@greeneyedgrrl24 You are doing well - 27lbs is not too shabby! Are you exercising? Change things up a bit.
  16. So I have not been able to talk to my surgeon since I had my Upper GI. The results show "Mild Reflux". Do you think he's going to want to do a Bypass instead of sleeve? I will be sad if I can't get the sleeve. Anyone have these results and still get the sleeve?
  17. @@JayVSG Many plans are different - you may be on pureed longer than this one.

    Upper GI Results

I have an appointment on 9/14 - so I'll find out then I guess. The RN said she didn't think it would be an issue. I just want surgery ASAP - at this point I don't care which. I'm beyond ready to start losing!

    Can we talk carbs?

@@magoosmom I think the issue with that particular oatmeal is the added sugar. Try making plain oatmeal and adding fruit or stevia and cinnamon. Without the added sugars - oatmeal would be fine. You can get carbs from veggies and fruit as well. Quinoa is another good option. There's many different recipes you could try with that. I would avoid pasta, bread, rice, sweets, etc.
  20. I'm not sure if you have to puree the tuna. I've seen it on some plans at this stage. You would definitely have to add mayo or something - it'd be too dry plain.

    Just not hungry

@@bellabeans A meatball is kind of heavy. Try things like cottage cheese, greek yogurt, ricotta bake, creamed/strained soups, etc. Your fluids and protein (shakes) are what's most important right now.
  22. Hummus, creamed/strained soups, ricotta bake, refried beans with cheese, greek yogurt... There's some good ideas on Pinterest. Good luck!

Overeating : Low Carb v. Moderation

@@muncheechee Carbs crave carbs - so once you add sugar, pasta, etc into your diet - it is likely you will crave more. Healthy carbs from fruit, veggies and whole grains can be done in moderation.

    How long between sips?

Whatever you can tolerate - just start off slow.
