    Weight Loss = Friend Loss

It sounds like they are being childish in their behaviors but maybe you are extra sensitive as well. FB can be an evil tool used by "mean girls" who never grew out of high school mode. Let them go! Hide their FB posts so they can't upset you. Hang on to those real friends and enjoy your new life!

    Positivity Thread

@@RosieCheeks I love salt & vinegar chips! This appeared on my FB feed today - I thought it looked good for when you might have that S&V chips craving. http://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/salt-and-vinegar-zucchini-chips/ Sorry to crash the UK thread (again!). :-)

  6. @@Jade99 Regardless of no appetite or thirst - you need to try and get in the recommended protein and fluids. You should be sipping all day. You can become dehydrated very quickly. Call your surgeon about the pain and see what they recommend.

    Surgery date

@@beccaslosinit It will also depend on what else needs to be done. After my insurance approval is when they ordered my pre-op testing. I was approved end of June and still don't have a surgery date yet. Hopefully yours will be faster!
  8. @@Jane1979 LMAO - I suppose that's all they give me too! I guess I don't have many expectations. I'm just thankful that my uni-boob is at least in the vicinity of boobs and not down by my waist!

    I feel so lazy

@@nursegettingheathy I tend to do those things pre-op whenever I have time off. It's depressing and then I am mad at myself for wasting time sitting around. As @@LisaMergs suggested - get out and enjoy your free time! Go outside and color (the adult coloring books are fun), paint (or learn to paint/draw), take a nap in the fresh air, read a trashy novel, have tea and enjoy the peace and quiet! Get yourself a mani/pedi, get a new hairstyle, a facial - pamper yourself! You'll be back in the grind in no time!!!
  11. @@bamagal76 How much Protein and fluids are you getting?? It's common to stall around this time - but be sure you are meeting your protein/fluid goals. Try changing things up a bit - add more fluids, more protein, exercise different than you have been, etc.

    Pre surgery weight loss

@@paul12677 Many people have weight loss requirements either from their insurance or their surgeon. I would recommend going with a high protein/low carb diet (similar to how you will be eating post-op) and making sure you are drinking at least 64 ozs of non-caloric drinks. Get rid of the high calorie drinks, soda (even diet), Pasta, rice, breads, Cookies, sweets, etc. Depending on how much you lose with that - you may end up having to do a Meal Replacement shake for at least one meal. Try eating at least 3 times a day (3 hours or more in between) - don't graze, don't skip a meal. Avoid fast foods - prepare yourself for what you will eat during the day/week and have everything available. It's not easy but if you put your mind to it - you can do it!!! Men lose quicker than most women - so you have that on your side.

Pregnancy on my mind - 10 weeks

@@charley27 It would be extremely dangerous for you and the baby if you got pregnant anytime in the near future. It takes longer than 10 weeks for PCOS symptoms to go away. Even without PCOS, your periods would be all out of whack at this point anyway - with the hormone dump from fat burning/weight loss. Concentrate on your health, losing weight (pregnancy at your weight would be high risk as well - regardless of having weight loss surgery) and be safe until it's healthy to consider a pregnancy.

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

@@suzzzzz LOL about the frozen adult beverages - I hadn't noticed that. I was eating MANY of them a night (like nearly an entire box) up until a few weeks ago.

    Cheese

@@Jesm1029 It depends on what type of cheese - some have higher carbs than others (and low-fat doesn't always mean better for you on a low carb/high Protein diet). It also really depends on what you are putting the cheese on. How many carbs / calories are you getting? How much protein?

    Non supportive spouse

@@courtknee_luv This is about YOU and doing something for yourself. Your husband should have no right to tell you "you're not having surgery". I wish you the best of luck on your new journey and I sure hope your husband comes around and supports you! Maybe you both could use some counseling to discuss his concerns - your concerns - and the need for his support.

    Sick leave or vacation?

@@CVanPelt Surgery should qualify for sick leave. I would wait until you have a better idea of a date and then speak to HR about taking medical leave. Most places will require you to discharge all time accrued (even vacation) if you are out longer than the amount of sick time you have. I don't think you'll need more than 22 days though. It's always a good idea to request medical leave to protect your job during your absence - even if you think you'll be out 1-2 weeks. If there were any complications - you'd be okay to take more time off based on your surgeon's instructions.

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

@@suzzzzz I noticed that on Sf Popsicles too. I ignored it because they have no sugars. My NUT said I could eat as many as I want (pre-op anyway) but I'll ask again. I'm ordering these to start making my own anyway. https://www.amazon.com/ZIPZICLE-Pack-Zip-Top-Ice-Pouch/dp/B00N795KR4

    Scared

@@singerbabe It's common to be scared when having any surgery. Complications during surgery are very rare so don't worry - your surgeon and Anesthesiologist will do everything to ensure a successful surgery. Just follow your pre-op and post-op instructions and you'll be fine! Talk to your Anesthesiologist about your fears - I'm sure they will reassure you as well. Good luck!
