    After a stall...?

@@Amelie2016 Lack of protein and calories can slow down weight loss. Good luck!

    Is it ok

@@ashgru This is the issue - you need to eat more (that's not enough calories) - and make sure you are getting enough Protein and Water.
  3. @@theantichick I'm not a fan of sugar free popsicles - leaves an aftertaste. I was thinking about making my own post-op (we'll see what happens then). They sell the containers on Amazon. There's plain Gelatin that you could make your own (there must be recipes online). My grandmother used to make coffee Jello - it was SO GOOD!!! Here's a recipe I found online. You could replace the sugar with splenda. http://www.food.com/recipe/coffee-jello-81870 (I just looked at this recipe and it was from someone in Rhode Island - which is were I am too - so it may have been only a RI thing).
  4. @@leliwhoaoh There was just a recent article on BP about this. http://www.bariatricpal.com/page/articles.html/_/support/pre-op-support/fix-relationship-issues-before-bariatric-surgery-r604 I have to say - even though he doesn't want to get surgery - that doesn't necessarily mean he's not going to be supportive. One of the biggest issues will be eating healthy post-op - and if he's willing to do that - great! You can find activities that you like to do together (go to the gym together). Don't push surgery on him - he may decide after that he's interested in WLS - or he may never want it. That's okay. Communication is extremely important!!! I would also encourage counseling.

    2nd Surgery

@@rwingmi Try doing the pouch reset first - go back to basics! I would also encourage counseling to get to the root of why you're falling off of the wagon - a second surgery won't make a difference if you're not changing your eating habits/lifestyle forever. http://www.obesitycoverage.com/the-pouch-reset-losing-weight-after-weight-regain/
  9. I wouldn't spend too much on underwear either. Even 40% off isn't a great deal at LB - if you are going to shrink out of them quickly. They always have sales - sometimes 5/$25 which is frequent. In the beginning, you may just want to buy some Hanes undies! lol

    After a stall...?

@@Amelie2016 How many grams of Protein are you getting? How about calories? You may not need to cut anything out - you just may have to change things up a bit. Are you drinking at least 64oz of fluids a day? Often you aren't having enough calories especially if you are exercising and your body will hold onto weight/fat.

    Shower + Incisions

You definitely need to ask your surgeon but I would think 6-8 weeks for standing water. I'm not sure I'd take any chances sooner.
  14. @@sleeverv I'm still pre-surgery but I've got a list in my head already. Don't buy too much of anything - you may not be able to tolerate the taste post-op (even if you like it now). Protein shakes (pre-made), Protein powder, broth, sugar free Jello, chicken, veggie or beef stock/broth (even better if you make your own bone broth - more protein), greek yogurt (watch sugar content), crystal light or similar Water flavoring, bottled water (might even want to try a few kinds). Good luck!

    Numb leading into surgery?

@@Womanvsmirror I think you'll probably get a little more nervous and anxious the days right before but I am kind of feeling the same way - it just feels like a long time before surgery that I'm just moving along and not getting my hopes up or getting nervous.
  16. @@jaxmom Congrats! You've done well! You'll lose slower because you don't have as much to lose as most of us. You'll be at Goal before long!!! Woohoo!

    Please help...

@@asolanom Welcome! I'm in the pre-surgery stages of getting the sleeve. I would encourage you to go to a Bariatric Surgery seminar as a first step. Also - contact your insurance plan to determine coverage and authorization requirements. I also struggle to lose any good amount of weight - also have hypothyroidism, hypertension, sleep Apnea, and PCOS (which you may want to look into whether or not that is your issue as well with the insulin resistance.). During my pre-surgery phase, I'm going to counseling/therapy to learn how to deal with emotional eating (mostly mindless eating) and I feel like it is making me better prepared for my life after WLS. Whether or not you decide on having WLS, I strongly encourage therapy to deal with emotional eating. Good luck on your decision!!! Kristen
