Talked to my husband today about getting gastric sleeve
KristenLe replied to TracyBar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@TracyBar I'm very proud of you for having an honest discussion about WLS with your husband! It's not an easy topic. He sounds like a great guy and with his support and your spirit - you will be a great success! -
Gross! Why bother.

weight loss plateau
KristenLe replied to TheNewME71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's a great loss. It takes more time to lose as you get closer to goal. Try changing things up a bit - exercise more or a different exercise. Just keep sticking with your plan! -
Leg/Muscle Pains 4 weeks post op
KristenLe replied to AndyNicks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@AndyNicks I don't think that's enough fluids. Try drinking something with electrolytes. Depending on what stage you are on - get in some potassium (banana). Be sure you are getting all of your recommended protein too. If that doesn't help - call your Dr to make sure not serious (blood clot). -
@@JKBtx It could be stomach acid. This mimics hunger pains. Make sure to take a PPI. Drink plenty of fluids - broth can help with hunger too. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

Look online for ricotta bake. You can have refried Beans with melted cheese (add cream cheese before heating). I think a buffalo chicken dip could be good too. Try chicken pureed with mayo (add dill relish or avocado). Experiment and enjoy! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

@@cuddletime Try some Propel water, Vitamin Water Zero or G2. Hope you feel better! Stay cool!

It's not unusual to be fatigued. Are you taking Vitamins? Are you on any meds for BP? If so - they may need to be adjusted. If you're in a hot climate - increase fluids - try something with electrolytes. Hormones are all out of whack right now - take care of yourself!
-
It is absolutely normal. Just be sure you are sticking with your plan - getting in your Protein and Water and you'll lose! Stay strong!
-
If you've increased carbs - that's probably what's triggered the cravings. My plan suggests doing 50% Protein and 50% Produce each meal. Avoid bread, pasta, rice. You can try going back to basics and get back to ketosis to try and rid yourself of the sugar cravings. Stay strong!

@@banded72716 I am pre-op but during my Psych visits to deal with cravings and emotional eating, I wrote a list of all the things I want to do once I lose weight (keep handy - even could have it as phone screen saver) When I'm craving something, I review the list and remember why I'm doing this. Best of luck!!!

I can't see my post but I don't recall ever being harsh. What did I say? You are agreeing with me in the next post (but my post may have been deleted???).

@@els If you still don't feel well - I'd call your surgeon. Rice can get stuck in your staples and cause significant complications. Please be careful to review your allowed foods at this stage.

@@BananaGal A consult wouldn't hurt - see what they have to say - whether it's possible, advisable, etc. At least then you know where you stand. Good luck!

@@Steph0625 Do fun things, get out with some friends, go dancing, join a club (running, biking, hiking, etc). You're young and will meet many guys that won't mind some extra skin and will love you no matter what!!!

1-2 week post op
KristenLe replied to Nicole Kahla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are still very swollen. Take small sips and tiny bites. Alot of folks have a problem with scrambled eggs at first - maybe try something else on your plan. -
@ Don't worry - I didn't lose much during my supervised weight loss and was approved. I tried - but my Nutritionist said not to worry that it's difficult to lose with PCOS and that's why I'm having surgery.

@@venomousflowers You are young - enjoy life and do fun things - you'll meet someone in person!!!

How long if diagnosed with sleep apnea will I have to wait for surgery? Or do I not have to wait?
KristenLe replied to Aaaaaa1234's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe you'd have to be compliant on the CPAP machine for 30 days - but it might depend on your surgeon. -
The link doesn't work.

Um no! Lol. Let me try again

@@AshNic Here's the support group section for PCOS. http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/435-pcos-sleevers/ There's definitely woman who have been successful to keep weight off after pregnancy (post WLS). But you're right - you have a long while to think about that! :-) Kristen

I would call your surgeon.

United Healthcare Tricare....need help!
KristenLe replied to sarcruze's topic in Insurance & Financing
Do you have a surgeon yet? If so - it's easier for the insurance coordinator to get details. I wasn't able to get info on my plan either.
