  1. I'm 7/13 and feeling great. Down 15 pounds since surgery (230 to 215). No pain except when I try to get up from a laying position. sleeping is so uncomfortable because I can only sleep on my back and it hurts my back! My main issue is HUNGER. I am so hungry all the time and cannot focus on other things. Watching people eat makes me so mad/sad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I'm still on liquids for another week. But you're menu sounds amazing! Are you in the puréed phase? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Took 1 week and I too have a desk job. I think it's the perfect amount of time for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi everyone. Coming up on day 7 post op. Down 13 pounds. Very little pain and overall feeling good except for one thing- I AM SO HUNGRY! Everyone says we should not be hungry but I know what I'm feeling is physical hunger. All day I think and dream about food. Not even super fatty food. Just a bite of chicken breast or a cucumber would make me happy. I'm dreaming about the purée stage at this point. I've been getting my liquids and Protein in but that only totals to about 200-300 calories a day. I've been adding GENEPRO to almost everything I consume to get my protein in. shakes started making me sick and I'm even allowed yogurt and SF pudding. Taking a PPI twice a day. What should I do??? I don't feel like this is normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Everyone keeps mentioning Tuna and eggs but my question is this. Are you cooking them and then pureeing them in a blender? To me purée means an apple sauce consistency (that falls off of a spoon)... How can tuna or eggs ever get like that? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I have same exact thing as you. Did you also do a hiatal hernia repair? I did and I think that is what's causing my chest to feel like that when I take something down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I'm doing better each day. No hiccups but having the hardest time getting liquids in. I'd like to know how much liquid can you guys get in at one time? I spend the whole day sipping something and am so scared to put too much in at one time. I'm only getting like 30 oz liquid and maybe 30 Protein each day. I know I'm far from goal but my sips are so small it's impossible to get there. Should I be taking bigger gulps? Also has anyone started sleeping on their sides or stomach yet? My back is hurting more than anything else these days and I think it's because I can never get comfortable laying on my back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. My doc doesn't do a barium swallow because he said he does the leak test while I'm still under anesthesia. I do feel restriction when drinking (I'm on full liquids) but still feeling hungry. It's hard to tell whether it's in my head or not... I can't tell the difference Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm post op day 4 and I think I have it. I tried to brush it off but it won't come off. Other than looking nasty no other symptoms. I have my first follow up appt on Wednesday so will find out then. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Did you get a PPI and did it help? I'm day 4 and also feeling so hungry. My doc did prescribe me a PPI but I thought I would only take it if I get heartburn. Now realizing this was a mistake.... Just took it and will continue to take it. Hoping it helps. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Jealous! Are you on full liquids? I'm only post op day 4 and already sick of everything. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. By the way I've been putting an ice pack on mine. Not sure if that's allowed or not but it makes me feel better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Everything you said is exactly what I am experiencing and we are sleeve sisters My biggest one is killing me. It's like the others aren't even there. It is pretty swollen and painful but I think it's normal. The nurse told me only if it gets red all around to be worried. Still if you are going to call tomorrow would love to hear what your team says... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I've been burping but haven't farted yet:( So sick of sleeping on my back it's causing me more pain than the incisions and everything else. Would it be ok to sleep on my side? Or at least flat on on my back and not elevated? Before I left the hospital the RN was adamant that I sleep on my back and remain elevated so that any gas or heartburn will be relieved. Anyone post op have any advice? Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I'm still in hospital. Coming on 2nd night because my nausea and pain was just too much that the whole first day I didn't get out of bed or sip anything. Much better today but walking has not taken the gas away! Still haven't farted just burps. Hoping tomorrow will be a better day. And even though it's been tough I am not regretting anything yet! 16. Thanks everyone. Your words are spot on! I am going to do it and will be so happy I did. See you on the losers bench! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 7am. I've worked so hard over the past 6 months to get to this point and now I am really freaking out if I'm making the right decision. I've been very happy even though I'm overweight and I LOVE eating, being on a liquid diet has confirmed that. So I am debating now if my quality of life will really be better if I'm thinner/healthier but unhappy because I won't be able to eat the things I used to. Am I crazy? Is this just jitters? Logically I know this is the right decision for me and my body I'm Just so scared I am going to regret this. Help!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I need to get a Multivitamin and Calcium Vitamin that is chewable/suckable. What's your favorite brand? I've tasted the fusion brand and I can barely take it down. Surgery is 2 weeks from today! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I am 29 yrs old, 230lbs. Surgery is in 2 weeks. I am hoping since I am young(er) that the loose skin won't be so bad. I figured the slower I lose the weight the better it will be for my skin but that's probably not something I have control of. Any suggestions to prevent or minimize loose skin? Lotions? Techniques? Etc? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
