  1. I believe if you suffer from acid reflux it can be made worse with the sleeve and for those patients often bypass is recommended I've never ever had reflux acid issues but after my sleeve I had it for about 3/5 months and had to go on medication I'm now off it and back to normal luckily as it was awful Good luck

I wouldn't travel for this particular surgery either I have for plastics In the past to Thailand but with the gastric surgery I personally wouldn't but lots of people do. I was self pay to its a lot of money but worth every single penny I believe.

Are you based in Melbourne ? is there not an Australian surgeon you could go to I think for ongoing support from them and not having to travel the surgery in nz was $22,000 I think it's pretty similar cost most places except Mexico that seems to be pretty cheap but again overseas My advice is get the surgery as soon as possible dont delay your new life is just around the corner and by December you could be at goal it took me 9 months to get to my goal of 70kgs from 115 I'm tall so 70 is good for me in Australia you can finance the procedure and also draw from your superannuation I believe as I know several people who have.

  5. It took about 7 days for me to go you also need to remember that you will very little in your stomach to make much happen if you were nil by mouth day before and liquids prior I was concerned I hadn't been but my surgeon said there won't be alot to go it will happen when it does constipation was an issue for me the first 3 months stay hydrated.
  6. To be honest I only told those I had to I found lots of jealousy and negative comments were made in the early stages so I stopped talking about it however if a person who's overweight comes up to me and asks out of genuine intrest I tell the truth I had weight loss surgery as I know as a former overweight person the hope I'd get when someone lost weight but when the skinny minnys ask I say oh Paleo the gym etc it's none of their business I have people recently not recognise me and it's funny as I'm still me there shock is a laugh I told my immediate family and two friends and that was it.

  15. I don't understand why some surgeons say no to coffee I've been drinking it from day 3 after being sleeved in march and am at my goal 45 kgs gone and still losing my surgeon said coffee is not an issue you obviously don't want to over indulge as there's calories in milk my life was made much better by being able to enjoy coffee as a treat when out if you want a coffee have one my surgeon said there is no medical or scientific evidence as to why we should not have it and said it's laughable that there's surgeons out there telling people no coffee Sent from my iPhone

    Update

Hi everyone I was sleeved 29/3 I'm down 42kgs so 84 pounds started to eat some carbs and sugars recently and my weight has stalled I'm 3kgs away from goal but struggling to get back on track to no sugars and carbs I was happy with myself being disciplined. I worry a lot about weight gain in the future if I can't control myself now this really is a mind over matter thing I find once I had a taste of carbs I want them and think about them. I don't want the honeymoon to be over not yet I'm grateful everyday I made this decision I've spent alot of money on this surgery I simply cannot fail I need to remember nothing tastes as good as skinny feels I love being slimmer I feel so good so confident more social Sent from my iPhone
