Finally feeling comfortable and confident in heels!
I've had this pair for 3 years and never had the confidence to wear them. I'm 5'10 without them and stand out regardless. I never wanted the added attention from heels. And I'm clearly more outdoorsy typically (lol I need to move the mountain bike and canoe paddles).
Now heels are an everyday thing with work, and it's so amazing to feel confident rocking them!

Donna415 reacted to Vickie23 in 199 lbs! Happy birthday to me lol
I weighed myself today at work, and I got on that scale and it said 199 lb. I got off and went back on because I was in disbelief!!
199 lb. I couldn't believe it. I had my Gastric bypass a little over 6 months ago, & I did a 6 month post explaining everything, but to see 199 pounds on the scale was like WOW!!
I mean last year on May 22, 2015 2 days after my 29th birthday, I went to my PCP and was 308 pounds and newly diabetic. and This year in 2 days it will be my birthday and I am 199 pounds, it is just surreal. I have always been a big person, Always!! I am saying bye to my 20s and the the 109 pound person I was carrying around. Very emotional. Very happy.
Happy early birthday present to me!! I hope we all have these moments, something that we all know we are going to loose the weight little by little as we listen to the instructions and do what we are told, but to see the scale I just couldn't believe it!!
I am on cloud 9, super happy!! To continuing to loose weight safely and happily! I've all ready been super happy because I was a person always wanting to eat and now to live my life around living and being active is awesome!!

Last year for my birthday at the office, I was shy to take this picture lol, and my picture now even posing with the cake! I feel great!! I'm so happy

I'm 29.. So I'm unsure if I fall into the young category anymore (*throws plate at the wall*) but I'm having my surgery on Thursday next week and I've never been more ready. Forget what family and friends say it's how you feel and what you want. It's your life, do not let anyone tell you how to live it! Good luck, you've got this!

Sometimes it can take longer and all policies are different but I know with bcbs WV and bcbs pa, it's 6 consecutive monthly visits within 2 years prior to surgery. I cross my fingers and toes for you that it's a short time to approve!!

    This will be me forever.
    21 pounds to go!
    I thank myself everyday.
If I can inspire just even one person to get their life and health back... or for their first time - then I'm happy.
    I'm happy anyways! ????

@@Donna415 I was thinking of calling my insurance and asking again. I'm not sure why they said that. Maybe they misunderstood what I was saying. I called my surgeons office today, I'm waiting on a call back. Hopefully it dose only take a day for approval:) and hopefully the lady at my surgeons office was wrong[emoji52]

Working for an insurance company helps me a little with knowing medical policies and whatnot but we can only follow what the medical policy states. The doctor may be saying that insurance companies like to see 7 visits but have you spoken with your ins to find out? I have and work for Highmark bcbs, ours states 6 consecutive monthly visits with at least 3 weeks between each visit.
When I went to my surgeon, he wanted to consider that as my first weight check but since my surgeon is 1.5 hours away, he agreed to let me do then checks with my pcp who I went to see the next week.
I do know that authorizations can take as little as a day to as long as a monthly depending on if something is missing when the original authorization is submitted but it is not something that a customer service agent can control.
Good luck and I hope our months go by quickly!

This past month, my fiancé, best friend, and I went to the Ohio state spring game. Every time we go, it's always at least a 2 mile walk just to the stadium from the car. With no hills, I was almost in tears because of how bad my legs hurt so my goal is to be able to spend all day walking around and enjoying myself rather than asking everyone to stop and wait for 10 minutes while I muster up the energy to walk another 50 yards.

Drinking straws CAN give you an ulcer!
    Here's how.
Drink through a straw. Post about it on the internet in surgical weight loss forums. Get really aggravated at the militant people that chastise you for drinking with a straw. Create extra stomach acid due to that aggravation. Develop an ulcer.

Hi guys, on a purely personal note, I prefer to stick with experienced sleevers who have heard all the 'opinions' but who have the intelligence and sense to sort the solid true facts out from the flannel. Those veterans (please excuse the title but it denotes experience not age!) have been successful in losing weight. They have a wealth of knowledge gained through intelligent research. I'm with them. Thus far, their posts have been my touchstone on my journey. I'm sticking with what is working (rather brilliantly too) for me.
By the way I'm walking away too-apart from anything else I cannot keep reading badly spelled, grammatically incorrect articles full of malapropisms and with no decent spacing. To me that shows a lack of respect for readers of the posts. It (wrongly sometimes) assumes we all can disentangle the prose and work out the true meaning behind the words.

Donna415 reacted to LoveMyBypass in I GOT MY SURGERY DATE!
So, today was my consultation with my surgeon. I was so nervous because I was supposed to lose 25 pounds and I've only lost 22. BUT everything went well. We discussed which surgery was right for me and he agreed with me when I said I wanted bypass surgery. I'm a sugar freak and he agreed that the bypass was the better choice. He explained a few things I already knew, I asked all the questions I needed to ask. My number one concern was... When can I go to Disneyland? Lol. He said right after but please please please remember to drink drink drink or you'll end up in the hospital the next day for dehydration.
Anyway, my surgery date is May 24, but I am on the cancellation list. Who knows maybe I can get surgery earlier. It's finally real to me. It's finally happening and I am so excited.
Just wanted to express my happiness.
