Still waiting. I called and insurance says 5-7 business days to process. So even though I know I have to hear something by Friday I still log on and check it like 7x per day.

I really like Dr. Chin and Dr. Moy (Moy is actually my Dr) but the office staff is just horrible. I am lucky that I can see my authorizations online thru my insurance website and thats how I knew the first submittal was incomplete. It took me a full week to even get Gina on the phone (after MANY emailed and messages) and she seems so bothered by me calling. I see my correct submission now and like you hope to hear something by next week. I debated changing surgeons but also worries it would delay any progress I had made. BUT...that being said I am glad my post helped someone else advocate for themself. Who knows how long we would all be waiting if we left it up to their office staff. That is exactly how I feel.

i have called. i have emailed. i have faxed. and i have messaged over the web access and noone from the office will get back to me. I know it has been a discussed ALOT about Blue shield CA changing their policy July 31, 2015 to no longer requiring the 6 months weight checks. I had my first apt with the surgeon today and they told me I was WRONG. I had the policy change printed out as well as the pre-auth form and the coordinator didnt even want to look at it. I know I had called and got 4 different answers. I made them pull up the policy and laugged as they read it to me only to tell me what I already know. Didnt matter my surgeons office says if it says 3 months is recommended the we are going to require it. Now they have an incomplete insurance auth submission claiming they are waiting on a report from a biopsy i didnt have because everything looked good during my endoscopy.. he didnt want to take a sample if nothing looked off. Still working on getting my surgeon to submit for authorization. Last hoop....check. Such a draining process, but I try to tell myself they make you go through everything to weed out the weak and make sure that they truly dedicated ones push through.

Good luck, I thought I was submitted on April 13th only to find out the submission was incomplete and when I called the surgeons office I was given the run around about waiting on results from some test that NEVER happened and I did not need because my endoscopy was totally normal. UGH

So come to find out the surgeons office submitted a referral. However, it is incomplete. The referral dept at my insurance says they forgot to put in a code and a location. When I asked the surgeons office they said they are waiting on pathology results from a biopsy from the endoscopy. The gastroenterology office says that my endoscopy results were normal and no biopsy was taken as it wasn't needed. AND they Endoscopy results were faxed to the surgeons office stating those results. So moral of the story...they are waiting on something that they will never get because it didn't happen and I have to sit here and wait for....well nothing. I am beyond frustrated as I have done EVERYTHING that I can possibly do to get this referral process started. If I could submit for my own authorization I would.

It is so exciting getting so close. I finished 3 of 3 appointments, all the surgeon requirements and they are now submitting for insurance approval. It is so difficult to be at the point there is literally NOTHING else I need to do, it is all in someone else's hands. Good luck and keep us all posted

So I see the Referral in my Health Records on line. However, It shows "incomplete" as the status. I am so anxious...I think I have looked it up 7 times just today to see if the status changed...lol.

they haven't made me do the sleep study..thank goodness cause my husband would swear I have sleep apnea..but i dont want another thing to hold my surgery up. i have an endoscopy this week and then 1 more weigh in on the 12th.. Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
