Wow marimar66 your story is very similar to mine. I did have initial success with the band, losing 30kgs (75 pounds) but as problems developed each time i had the Fluid out to recover i would gain a bit back. 4 kgs here...5 kgs there... eventually after 5 years I've gained it all back. ..and spend 24 hours a day beating myself up for failing!!! Its worse than if id never had the band really.
I found out a couple of years ago that in Australia surgeons are paid more to temove the band than to put it in! Its a win win for the surgeons.

I just had to do 3 appointments with nutrionist, and see a pulmonologist. I had a chest x-ray, upper gi, and blood work. The whole process was about 2 months.
liquid preop diet for 2 weeks. I was really hungry at first, but after the first 3 days I was fine. I also had to drink magnesium citrate this morning and Clear liquids all day. Not to bad! I will update hopefully tomorrow after surgery.

It's complicated to explain. It stands for biliary pancreatic diversion with duvoal switch. Similar to a gastric bypass but more weight loss expectations and lower risk of regaining weight.

I am 34 months RNY gastric bypass. I chose this type of surgery because I have severe acid reflux (GERD) prior to surgery and this is the recommended approach for that condition.
I was in the weight loss phase for 6 or 7 months and then transitioned into the maintenance phase. What you are requesting, I believe is how to minimize your weight gain prior to surgery. This is somewhat similar to the maintenance approach, perhaps the following article might provide you some clues. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery2.pdf

Hi @@kstein01 I just had band to sleeve revision surgery on March 2nd. I had complications from my band for about 8 months before I made the decision to go with the sleeve. I went in for an EGD and my doctor unfilled me completely and I ended up gaining 25 pounds in 2.5 months. I was so disappointed in myself.
My surgeon does the removal and revision together if possible. And luckily he was able to do mine together. I am so happy with this decision and looking forward to not feeling horrible all the time like I was with the band. I know the weight loss can be slower with the sleeve but this is a journey not a sprint for me.
Good luck with your decision, remember this has to be what's best for you and your future.

I am a band to bypass revision and my surgeon requires the 3 month wait between removing the band and doing the bypass.

    Dear Sleeve,
Today, day 5 was better having you around. You have made more room in my stomach- so we are sharing that space in my tummy. We successfully negotiated a compromised a treaty on where to draw the line to prevent discomfort for both of Side. I was able to reach both my Water and Protein goal.I is so nice to wake up to my sleeve with an appetite I think we are getting used to each other better. My Sleeve's pain has gone down significately. Now the feeling is much more like a muscle pull or twing
Day 5- starting to see the sun shine I relieved a sign from God today that everything was go to be fine. My hubby ad i saw 7 deer in my backyard. 4 of the 7 were babies .Those babies represent the new life i as starting. So far the road has changed- No longer feeling regret> My sleeve has moved in and has stopped some of the disruption.

I had bilateral brachioplasty twice. It wasn't bad. I much prefer the scar then the hanging skin that I had.
