  1. Mine came! I was upset yesterday because all the books came but not it. But the calibrate is going to be hard. How the heck do I know how long .25 miles is?
  2. Did Couch-to-5K for 44 min. I have no idea how far I walked/ran. But my challenge was to actually run outside and not in the gym and I finally did it!
  3. Welcome to LapBandTalk! Be sure to check out our other subforums. We've got one on Doctors and Hospitals and one for people from Canada and they both should be able to help you in your Quest to find a surgeon.
  4. Welcome to LapBandTalk! There are a bunch of Dr. Rod bansters here. I'm not sure where they hang out though. Just look around and I'm sure you'll find them though.
  5. Mr Mac never puts anything away in the same place twice either. Assuming he puts it away at all, of course. Drives me crazy.
  6. Let me know how it turns out!
  7. Don't worry about it. I get this reaction 50% of the time and I'm still trying to figure out what words to use to make it more clear.
  8. Hey, it's not bad if you ordered the Energy Breakfast! :tongue2:
  9. She told you it was your problem to figure out? That doesn't bode well for your relationship, I'm sorry to say. It could be that she is really mad about something, but not talking about it is, quite frankly, not very adult.
  10. Really? I thought they all covered lapband these days. Guess not!
  11. That's great, Ceredad! I was going to say something but the I forgot what it was.
  12. GSD? I am annoyed. I decided today was first day to run outside of the gym and it's RAINING! (Yesterday was a planned day off.)
  13. I get mine at the grocery store. They are mixed in with the regular cake mixes.
  14. It's a subforum on this site. Here: Canada Local Lap-Band Support - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum
  15. We use the Bender Balls in my Pilates class.
  16. MacMadame replied to a post in a topic in Fitness & Exercise
    I'm interested! I'll PM you.
  17. Welcome to LapBandTalk! Have you checked out the Canada subforum yet?
  18. Welcome to LapBandTalk! Be sure to check out the Michigan section to find people in your area (if you haven't already).
  19. I read somewhere that only 1% of people who are eligible for this surgery actually get it. The idea that people are having WLS in droves for frivolous reasons is a by-product of society's attitudes towards the obese IMO.
  20. They already have! Thomas Bros sales are in the toilet! Actually, the in-car GPS is making internet maps less useful, too. Which is why I picked "other". I only use MapQuest (hate Google Maps) when I'm trying to figure out how long it takes to get somewhere before I get in my car. Once in the car, it's Garmin Nuvi all the way!
  21. I love that movie! The part where they get to Earth and start learning to farm reminds me of how we all feel when we get WLS and the pounds start coming off and we get our lives back!
  22. Welcome to LapBandTalk! Be sure to check out the Jan. '09 forum ... all people being banded in Jan!
  23. They will consider you in two years? I've heard most places won't consider you at all until you are five years out from bariatric surgery. It's the same with private health insurance. They want you a few out from the surgery before they will give it to you. The way I look at it is that if I hadn't gotten the surgery, I'd have the same experience (and have had the same experience) for being MO. Dh and I were denied when we applied for BCBS privately, for example. But now there is an end in sight because in a few years I won't be MO and I won't be just out from surgery.
  24. I admit I do a lot of skimming. Did you get rid of your other guests? Mine broke my crown!
  25. I don't know if it's a "trend" or not, but all 5 people with leaks that I know about had leak tests. Same with my Aunt (who had the full gastrectomy last year due to stomach cancer). They didn't all go home and eat food too soon either, though I'm sure some of them did. But most people are good about that sort of thing, thank goodness. LapSF was doing leak tests and not finding leaks in the OR but then people would go home and develop leaks. They speculated that the leak test was actually stressing the staple line and causing the leak. (They aren't the only surgeon who believes that, btw.) They stopped doing this test and haven't had a leak in over a year.
