  3. Thanks!! Something that helped my stalls is doing a day or 2 of just shakes again. I had a week or so where I felt like I could eat more again and did it then too. Put me right back in line! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  4. Woo! Stall has unstalled! When I went in for my checkup my surgeon said the weightloss would be a lot slower now. The first 6 months are rapid and it slows down after that. He said I can kick it up by working out. That's next on my to do list. For now just focusing on diet. I go off it on the weekends but I'm pretty strict during the week. Down 121 and counting! Hope everyone's doing well!! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hey guys! I had my sleeve done April 20th and had pretty great success so far. I'm down 110 lbs! My surgeon in my pre opp said I'd likely lose around 200 and the online calculator said I'd likely lose 220 with the sleeve. I know those are estimates and it's a lot on what you do, your starting weight, and how your body is and blah blah. I also know the honeymoon period is 6 months to a year. At my 6 month follow up my surgeon told me I wouldn't likely lose another 100 lbs in the next 6 months and I've gotta tell you, I was kind of devastated. I'm happy with my progress, but I was kind of expecting it to keep going a while longer. Has anyone had a lot of success with losing the same amount or more in the 6 months AFTER surgery or is this what I can expect and if I want to lose more I have to amp up my workouts? 3 month stall

Nooo! I've read about it and now, 3 months out I'm experiencing the dreaded 3 month stall. How long does it usually last? I feel like I'm waisting good "honeymoon" time! Feeling the pressure of the first year being the best/easiest and stalling for 2-3 weeks seems so terrible. Do we just have to wait this out? Should I just go back to shakes only? What do I do?! 10. I'm experiencing all of the same things. I'm hungrier and feel like I want to eat more but still can't eat as much as I want to in my head (which is great). Anyone else hit the dreaded 3 month stall? I've been dancing around the same 2-3 lbs for the last couple of weeks. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  11. On my own, several years ago I was able to lose 70 lbs on my own. I didn't do it in a healthy way. I basically stopped eating. I might have gotten in 300 cals a day and was a gym junkie. My hair fell out and I was so malnourished that when I stood up in my sisters wedding, I fainted mid ceremony. I then met the love of my life and got happy and ate again and gained it all back. 10 years later I had gained a lot more and was at my heaviest. I got sleeved 4/20 and I'm officially down to the max I was able to lose before! 70 down and counting! I've lost a lot less hair, I feel so much better, and my quality of life has improved greatly! Every pound from here on out is a new highest weight lost! Best decision I've ever made and I can't wait to see where I'm at by this time next year! Thank you all for the help, encouragement, and tips throughout this process! Love you guys! Pic on the left is 3 weeks after surgery after already losing about 25 lbs. Pic on the right is Friday ???? 14. So prior to my surgery on 4/20 my boyfriend and I didn't use birth control. Because of my weight, it would have been difficult for us to get pregnant. We don't really want to, but we were of the mindset that if it happens it happens. Post surgery, if it happens its a big deal and a bad thing for the first year. My gyno suggested iud, but I've heard too many horror stories from close friends and everyone seems to know someone who's had issues with it. I know there are plenty that don't, however the risk doesn't seem to outweigh the reward for me. I'm also not really into the idea of having to go in and have a procedure should we change our minds and want kids. So my gyno wasn't into giving me a pill because she did a little research and found it could be less effective if you have gastric sleeve surgery. My surgeon said no, it's fine and my gyno agreed to prescribe it for me. After picking up my pills I started to be concerned with weight gain which I know is a very common side effect of the pill. I read up on the pill I was prescribed and found all kinds of women posting that it made them gain weight and now I'm terrified. We really don't want to go back to condoms, but we really also don't want to yet pregnant! It's become a real problem and a huge stressor for me! Help friends! What's your advice other than just get the iud. I'm not willing to do it even if you dont have issues with it. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  15. Hi friends! I was sleeved on 4/20 and doing great! Down 57lbs so far and haven't had too many bumps in the road. Right now I'm pretty much avoiding carbs as much as possible (no bread, Pasta, rice etc) and trying to get in my 60 grams of Protein and Water every day. I've started taking Biotin proactively before the hair loss starts. I'm not cleared for working out yet but I will likely be soon and will get back into the gym. I'm not really actively tracking my food right now outside of protein and just casually keeping it low far/low cal. I've been thinking about using an app, but I haven't really been given very clear guidelines on everything yet. I know the first 6-12 months are the honeymoon period. You're supposed to lose the most and easily during this time. So I am doing whatever I can to not cheat myself out of this time. I'm wondering from vets, what things did you not do until later that you wished you had started sooner, especially in the honeymoon period? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  16. Yes! I love the weight I'm losing but I wish I was at the finish line already! I'm mostly looking forward to getting my super skinny face back and fitting into the smaller clothes I bought! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

Can I ever have coffee again?

My surgeon said 8 weeks. I started sipping small cups at 7 and never looked back and never had an issue. I will say after going 7 weeks coffee has a much stronger effect on me! I don't have to drink nearly as much to get the same caffinated effect. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  18. Wow thats awesome... you have lost what i have left to get to my doctors goal!! Thats great work. How are you losing so quickly? What's your secret? My secret is a super high starting BMI lol. I am substituting 1 meal per day with a premier shake too which I suspect helps a lot too. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  19. How's everyone doing? 4/20 and down 57lbs so far! I overdid it in the sun yesterday at a fest. Even though I was constantly drinking Water and mostly sitting I ended up having to leave because I almost passed out in the 90 degrees. It was my first time out in the sun and heat for an extended amount of time since my surgery. Other than that no issues. How are all my other April peeps? 20. I had a 3 week stall myself. Then I'd lose a cpl and put 1 back on! What?! Lol. Finally down to just losing and consistently again. Down 47 total since surgery on 4-20 (23 pre opp) and first day back to work today. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  22. Loose skin will be loose skin. The key is exercise and weight training to go along with the weight loss.Thats true. But slower weight loss doesn't hurt the skin situation. It was just a contributing factor in my decision. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  23. Alright guys, I'm pretty much done here. I've stated fact and also my opinions. I'm done defending both. I've wished her well and wish all of the rest of you well too. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  24. No worries. If you want hand holding and people to lie to you to make you feel better have at it Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Uh... Yes, you did claim that we were lying to her, and none of us are holding her hand - we're giving her information just like your trying to do - however, you are misinformed on how much water aerobics can do for weight loss. have you seriously ever tried Running in the water... try doing 10 laps back and forth the length of the pool... I work up more of a sweat and feel way more invigorated after that then I do running on the treadmill!I sure have. And it's nothing compared to land workouts. Yes, you did claim that we were lying to her.And as I further explained in my retort after that post, I don't think anyone is outright lying to her. I think they're misinformed.
