So I'm 3 days out and feeling trapped. I have this excruciating pain on my left side that's so bad I can't sit-up all the way without holding that's side. Once this pass I think all will be great. Anyone else dealing with this??

I am so sorry to hear about all of the complications all of you are going through. I feel like the medical team that did all of you guys surgery needs to answer for it because I feel like they did something wrong. Congratulations! You are on your way to a new you. As for packing either comfortable slippers or sneakers, as you should be walking a lot in the hospital. I packed pjs for sleep, but I wore loose fitting, comfortable capris or short set to wear during the day, because again you will be out walking a lot. Then a comfortable outfit to go home in. My doctor said 10lbs but I lost 30lbs. I don't think it's really a requirement but I think it's a test to see if you can stick to a diet...

Best of luck, and yes I definitely have mixed emotions going on! Excitement, panic, fear, the unknown. I'm about a month pre-op, but looking forward to a fresh start, a new outlook on life, and no more worries about fitting into restaurant booths, airplane seats, etc. You can do this! I'm on the 11th too! And am feeling all of the above. But mostly excitement. I've started a board on Pinterest of all of the clothes I'd love to wear after to keep my mind occupied.

My bypass is booked on the 11th of August too.

So I went out of town this weekend and my phone was acting a fool and had to be master reset. I realized I had a message and checked it. Well it was my surgeon office telling me I was approved by my insurance and August 11th will start a new life for me. I sitting here nervous, happy, anxious, excited, and scared all at once... Hello Shi-Shi80!!! My surgery date is August 8 th!!! I start me liquid diet on 7/25. Yeah, I had a full day of pre op on 7/13...it went by quick. I'll keep you posted on my progress. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time Lol but I know that God is in control!
