My dr told me not eat any kind of sausage, hot dogs, or anything like that. And definately NO SUGAR OR FOODS WITH SUGAR. A BIG NO NO. My biggest thing is snacking. I always want to snack. Any helpful ideas

I don't think you even have to tell your own boss what surgery you are having. You just need to say "I'll need blank amount of weeks off as I am having surgery such and such date."
You are not obligated to tell them anymore and they aren't allowed to ask.
Surgery is surgery - they have to give you the time off required without question.
Nobody else needs to know details.
I believe this is correct information I am giving anyways hahaha

So exciting!!! I didn't have to do the liquid only thing, but I would imagine Jello, sugar free Popsicles, etc will help
In the hospital, I really didn't do anything. I read here and FB, etc, so be sure to bring your phone charger. I watched a little tv. Overwhelmingly, you'll read on here that people don't use half of what they take to the hospital.
I do recommend some loose (pj?) shorts to wear for booty protection when you're walking the halls
Best wishes for you and congrats!!!

I'm approved and starting to prepare myself physically and mentally. I have 2 more days of low-carb no sugar and then Tues all liquid (any suggestions here?) Trying to prepare my bag and wonder if I should take things to occupy my 2 day hospital stay or am I over thinking? Will I be occupied enough? Joined a gym too today now I just have to find my motivation to drive me. I will be so glad to be lighter so maybe exercise will be enjoyable!

Can't believe it's been almost a year already. I've lost 130 pounds so far. Went from 258 to 128 and a size 24 jeans to a 5. I feel so much better.

My NUT actually suggested chili because it has double meat. It also worked well in the puree phase. pureed chili still tastes like chili. That is not true of all things.

I love it when people get creative with their meals! meatballs/eggs/cottage cheese! Yum!
Now that I'm working again, Protein shakes are all I can manage... but on the weekends, I will cook something egg based. I haven't had surgery yet though, so I don't know what I'll like/tolerate afterwards

Egg beaters, hard-boiled eggs, weight control oatmeal, kashi cereals. Turkey sausage if you want Protein and taste of a typical Breakfast.
I did/and still do post-op, use my Protein shakes as my AM snack.

Good suggestions from Learningtolive. I also sometimes eat turkey/chicken chili or a deli meat/cheese rollup if I'm wanting something savory. If I liked yogurt, I would be eating that every day probably. I have a bag of turkey meatballs in the fridge, so sometimes I'll cook one of those, one egg, and maybe 1/4 cup cottage cheese and scramble that together. Protein packed and delicious! Generally, stick with Protein and good fats and avoid bread/starches and you'll be good.
