  1. Id say they are comparable. I remember asking at support group before my surgery "is this like having a baby, no one tells you the gory details because the reward out weighs the pain?" I'm only two weeks and three days out and today was the first day I could bend down to pick something up off the ground. Still a little pain from internal stitches which is similar to some of the pain I remember from after csections.
  2. I got mine at target. If doesn't roll up like some others I've had.
  3. I wear a compression tank and it has helped my abdominal pain. I'm nervous to go without it because the pain was so bad. My incisions seem fine.
  4. I think it can occur on either side. But when in doubt or just to be safe, call your surgeons office. That is what they are there for. It helps for peace of mind to call too.
  5. I have the same stitch pain on my right side. Dr said its from internal stitches. My dr said the stitches used will dissolve in 6 weeks and should be barely felt at 4 weeks. I'm two weeks and two days and it has gotten better, but still can't bend down to pick up anything or put my socks on. Hurts when standing up etc. luckily everything else is going well and I feel good otherwise. Also, a compression tank top has helped a lot.
  6. I'm wearing a compression tank right now and it has helped my pain tremendously.
  7. Sounds like it could be a strained muscle but I would error on the side of caution and contact your surgeon.
  8. I stopped using the one ounce cups my second day home because I felt it was easier to drink straight from a glass or bottle. I was able to get more in without the little once ounce cups. I think the main thing is that you are able to measure what your intake is. Also it will get easier every day to get more and more in. Take it one day at a time
  9. Katie you hit the nail on the head!!! Oprah is the reason I decided to do this too. But because she jacked up weight watchers. I was pissed off at the changes and decided it was time to do something else, something that I had control over something that might actually work. Best of luck to you!
  10. You will be fine! Honestly if it weren't for this side pain the recovery was pretty easy. I'm not tired or in any other pain. Really not bad at all. Two months will be here before you know if and you'll be on the other side of the surgery and just taking one day at a time. Best of luck to you!
  11. I just started purée and I'm kind of confused what a typical day should look like as far as an eating "schedule" and menu. I'm concerned I won't get all my fluids in if I have to break 30 minutes pre and post eating before drinking. Also, getting enough protein. Today I met my protein goal but had two shakes. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can call my nutritionist too but thought there might be some good ideas out here.

  13. @@AmberMc03 I still have a bit of pain in my right side. It's mostly when sitting down or getting up. Getting into bed. And I can't bend down to pick anything up lower than my knee. I saw the dr yesterday. He said he had to put a couple extra stitches under the incision because he was worried about me getting a hernia. He said not everyone gets them. And he thinks it's pulling on my muscle and will take about four weeks to feel better.
  14. I would suggest sip sip sip as much as possible. Also sugar free Popsicles helped a lot in the beginning. Also as the swelling goes down you should be able to get more in. I couldn't even think about protein the first few days.
  15. I have an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully they can help me!!!
  16. that sounds like a possibility. Hopefully closer to two weeks because I don't know how much more me or my family can take! Thanks for your response makes me feel not so crazy.
  17. Yeah Tylenol isn't helping and in fact the pain meds aren't helping either. I tried that tonight thinking maybe it would take away the pain. The only thing that helps at times is to apply pressure and to sit or lie perfectly still. I guess I'm going to have to call in the morning because I can barely move.
  18. Oh yikes! That doesn't sound good either.
  19. Are you feeling better? My pain actually seems to be getting worse on my right side. I'm thankful I have a doctors appointment on Monday. It can't get here soon enough. Going to take pain meds tonight to see if I can get some comfortable sleep. I wish it would go away because other than this stabbing burning pain on my right side I feel great.
  20. So today I decided to try the isopure blue raspberry. And I added mio berry blast and it helped significantly with the taste. I'm still struggling to get all my fluids and protein in and thought if I added Gatorade I'd have to drink even more to get the same amount of protein. This will work for now!!! Thanks for all of the tips, it helped me to come up with my idea.
  21. Hopefully we will be done with this pain by next week and feeling amazing.
  22. My nutritionist recommended Flinstones complete. One in the morning and one in the evening. I assume the extra one is because we aren't eating a balanced diet at this point and that will help make sure we get some of the necessary nutrients we aren't getting from food.
  23. Thank you. Three weeks seems so far away. Luckily it's my only set back.
