  1. WOW! That's good to know. I'm definitely going to move on to find a RNY surgeon. The trueyou surgeon told me it'll get better (GERD), that's crazy. I can't trust it. I'm going to get the RNY. Thanks for the feedback!
  2. Absolutely. He won't budge, and I am out to find another surgeon. 🙂
  3. Yes, the IBI doctor is a bariatric surgeon and the TrueYou doctor said he's a gastrointerologist specialist. I guess I'll go back to the drawing board to find a few more bariatric surgeons and also find a GI specialist. I appreciate everyone's help and insight.
  4. Thank you for your response. I haven't gotten my GERD checked out for a couple of years, but I know it's getting worse. Part of the regain issue is due to binge eating disorder. I'm still getting treated for that and learning to do other things besides eating. It's been helping, but not really a lot of weight loss (3 lbs since last month), but I can't really get below 220 at all anymore. I'm on HBP meds since last Friday and managing to get it down. I'm totally self-pay for now and the surgeon can correct the gerd, but it won't cover anything dealing with bariatrics under my insurance plan. I guess his office doesn't know how to get it to clear the insurance. I have insurance it just won't cover me for surgery.
  5. Exactly. Their suggestions has just really thrown me off. smh...
  6. I have decided to get a revision from a sleeve to gastric bypass. My heartburn is getting worse and i'm gaining weight. I was originally sleeved in 2017. I am ready for this second chance because I have to self pay. I can't believe I have two full-time jobs and I'm still concerned about costs for this procedure. My first job won't cover the procedure and the second contracting job won't either. Since being sleeved, I never got to my goal weight. If you have any recommendations for bariatric surgeons in the Atlanta area, please let me know because my original surgeon has since retired during covid. I've found one surgeon, but he's very pricey at $24,000 and it doesn't include post-op appointments (insurance can cover), labs (insurance can cover), nutritional visits, (not covered by insurance) or supplements. Any feedback is welcomed.
  7. yes, many choices, but not sure who to go to. I guess I'll start researching again. 🙂

    Hello, any veterens around?

I’m almost a veteran. I was sleeved in 2017. Never reached my goal weight. But, I did get down to 185 or so. My advice is if you are a sweets lover or have binge eating issues, go with the gastric bypass. I didn’t listen to my first doctor and got the sleeve. I’m back up to 222 and struggling to get my weight down. My other advice is to not get off the dietary/lifestyle plan.

    Hello, any veterens around?

@danita75 I wish this was possible, but I'll need to pay out of pocket and use loans most likely. I have insurance, but it doesn't cover it.

    Hello, any veterens around?

I’m 5 years out and struggling! I never hit goal with the sleeve. I should have had the bypass instead. Best wishes to all in your journey.
  11. I would like to add the YouTube videos for now loss Adrian Bryant is great. HIIT jumping jacks and ski steps
  12. I really feel I have not done a good job managing my emotions and eating. I need help! I called my surgeon and he tells me to stick to the plan. I’m doing that, but only lost 43 lbs. anyone have tips? I’m a stress eater and so much is going on. Help me please! I wish I would’ve gotten the bypass instead of the sleeve.
  13. I'm now 3 months out and I have been stalled again for 3 weeks. I've lost 42 pounds, but I'm feeling like I won't lose anymore weight. I'm meeting my water goals, protein, and exercise goals. I still keep thinking I should've gotten the RNY. i hope I can lose another 30 pounds by my 6 month appointment in the next few months. I have pcos and I think that's the culprit. I feel lighter but no more weightless. Maybe I should go to therapy or something. Smh

    Tired of the stall

You are absolutely right with your comment. I increased my calorie intake one day and did a jumping jack routine. Also, it was discouraging because All I kept thinking about is the low calories and not losing, and stressing out. Then I said to myself I need to get my mind off of this. So, as time went on, by the end of week 9, I lost 1 pound. Then the 10th week, I lost 5 lbs, and another 5 lbs, in week 11. I’m just starting my 12th week today and will increase HIIT one day a week.

    Tired of the stall

That’s great! It’s funny how some people don’t have a stall at all and some have a few stalls and others have a stall every other month. But, you’re weight loss progress is great.[emoji3]

    Tired of the stall

It’s good to be slow loser because you can keep the weight off longer. Slow and steady is best. But, Wow! Months of stalls would make me nuts. I’m glad I’m finally losing again. I seemed to think I would be the exception if the stall continues long time. Wondering how I will do in 3 more months. That’s when my 6 months will be.

    Restriction Gone

    Ok cool. [emoji846]
  24. I’m almost 12 weeks out and don’t feel restricted. Is this normal? I don’t really eat a lot but I noticed when I drink water. I used to sip, but now I drink and wait to feel restriction and nothing gives me the tightness. Well, I take that back. When I eat applesauce that’s when I feel the sleeve. I can eat a little chicken and don’t feel the restriction at all.
