  1. Congratulations to you all. This site still gives me inspiration.

    I'm always cold.

Yes, all of the weight loss is making things normal for you again. Being cold is definitely uncomfortable. :-) Bundle up in Europe!

    Pain under rib

@@lisam1972 Glad you are recovering well! :-) sounds like gas/constipation, but check with doctor to be sure.
  4. @@SweetyShetty1988 Great question, I would hope that you would need to wait to breast feed or not do it at all because of nutrional values. Just my opinion. @@Alexis99 who do you have for insurance? I'm hoping to get my surgery before the end of this year. I saw my surgeon today and he said he can get me in before the end of this year. I'm going to request my letter of support/certification from my PCP on Monday and hope to get it back within a week. Otherwise, it'll be around feb or march next year. Grr and another deductible I'll have to meet.
  5. @@Hollyhock I appreciate your hardwork and tenacity in your journey. I would like to recommend watching a Youtube video for both surgeries and even the Lapband if you want. I went to 3 surgeons, 1 recommended bypass, the other 2 recommended sleeve. I'm choosing to go with the sleeve because I want less invasive surgery and only want to use it as a tool to help me to eat right. I thought of doing the Lapband, but, I think I would actually feel the device in my stomach and I heard too many people have problems with finding the port, slippage, corrosion, and other issues.
  6. @@Tiffanie13 I'm so excited for you! You are in the home stretch. Congratulations. Are you nervous? Calm?
  7. @@RussT congratulations Russ! I'm glad you posted the video. :-)

Im so happy with this app

@@Siyaa Ela, welcome aboard! I'm glad I found this app too. :-)
  9. @@janedoe92 Ha Ha Ha!! I love this post because I never thought to see someone lose weight around their eyes. But, it is so possible! I've went down half a shoe size and I haven't even had my surgery yet. I can't wait to say good bye to my big rear and hips! I learn something new every day. This is great!
  10. @@boots_and_bridles, I think @@Butterflywarrior said it best, you have to do your research, go to a support group, and know what you want for your body and talk to your surgeon. This is a life changing event and it's very important to take time and research as much as you can. :-) Good luck to you and I'm glad you have a ball park date to when you'll have the surgery. BTW, your surgeon can show you pictures from the surgery or you can watch it on YouTube. :-) It's gross, but cool. :-)
  11. To everyone, have any of you tried online therapy? I was thinking about going that route since it's more convenient and it's for periodic binge eating. I've already had my psych evaluation...

    Need advice

Best of luck to you all. I'm not sure what you should be eating at your stage, but I would definitely stay away from bread and sweets. The hardest thing to do is measure our accomplishments on where we think we should be. I believe you will be fine and you are exactly where you should be on your plan. Keep following your plan to a 'T' and you will be on your way. I'm so happy you are not gaining and your metabolism will bow down as soon as you've crushed it even more with your good eating habits.
  13. Congratulations! Let us know how you're doing! Ave room for me on the loser's bench.

    Protein Shakes Ugh!

Someone on another blog recommended syntrax from Bariatric choice website. I personally love premier protein and so did the other person who recommended Syntrax, so maybe you will like it maybe not.. I guess it's all trial and error.

    Quest Chips

Lol, I'm the opposite. I do not like Quest protein bars, wouldn't dream of eating their chips . Yuck!

    Bummed..

Ok, that's good. Set a reminder on your phone to call at least twice a week...

    Bummed..

Oh no! Don't worry, things may change to where your date will move up. Start practicing as of your surgery date is next month. That's what I'm doing.
  18. @@msleesa I agree with Aggiemae, I wouldn't want to win a surgery. That's just me. Also, post the topic to see what other's think.
  19. @@Alex Brecher, thank you for your suggestions. This will be my first Thanksgiving where I really think about what I'm going to eat. Next year will be a different story because I will probably not eat anything but Protein shakes and Greek yogurt. Hoping my taste buds change by then. This will be such a challenge!
  20. I met with 3 different surgeons, they all were good, but my deciding factor was the quality of work so many patients had of him. Still waiting to get sleeved.
  21. @@Bouncy, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Your metabolism maybe stalling. But, it will have to bow down when it's not getting any food for a while. I think you'll start losing by the 3rd day. If not contact your nutritionist/surgeon.
  22. @@mrs_ross26, dang! I hate when that happens. I hope they will call you again, or maybe they left you a callback number. Lol, I still don't answer unknown callers.

    Shake Question!

@@tearsofapache, I'm sorry to hear about your budget. It definitely cost a lot. Maybe you can have Greek yogurt for Protein, you may need to get on some assistance for a while until you can do a little better. Hopefully, family and friends can help you out for a while. @@Madea61, I'm vegetarian, but for starters, you will need to see a nutritionist and start reading food labels. Make sure you have meat, protein, eggs, Greek yogurt, low sugar or less than 8g, low fat less than 8g, low carb less than 8g, and lots of veggies. And, have at least 64oz of Water per day. Say good bye to processed food and bread. It will help on the long run.
  24. These are some good suggestions, I'll need to try some alternative shake options for after surgery.
