    Band vs Sleeve

@@bloomie85, I was like you. I was in limbo for a while of lapband over sleeve. I decided to go with the sleeve because I didn't want to have a port and didn't know if I would feel the cord, get fills, get it adjusted, etc.

    Psyc evaul

@@millies25412, mine was about an hour long and I filled out a form. She asked me why I wanted the surgery, do I have a support base at home, child hood history of eating, how to be successful with the weight loss, how my family or friends think about my decision, and setting realistic expectations... She recommended me to see about getting therapy for binge eating.

    Gastric Sleeve Newbie

Hi Paula, Thanks for posting! You have encouraged me to continue to stay away from the sweets. This time was tough since I'm actually conscious of what I'm putting in my mouth. It will be especially tough next year because I always have to cook. Maybe I'll think of something else to do for thanksgiving day.
  7. @@oilmandg, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. It's a struggle, but well worth the fight. It's ok to have concerns, but don't worry. Worrying causes stress, depression, and all sorts of other things. Stay positive, we are here to encourage you,
  8. @@Tiffanie13, yes! That's a good idea. I'll try to work from home of necessary
  9. @@LipstickLady, that's a good idea to track food before you eat it. I need to do it that way instead of tracking after I eat.

    Questions for your surgeon

@@Tayfusion304, also, o would ask if they sew at the top opening of the stomach? Do you sew all the way down manually? Or do you use the staple tool? If you use the staple tool, do you reinforce the top and bottom of the stomach manually? You might want to watch a YouTube video of the surgery.
  16. @@JaneDarcy, one moment at a time, and you have to really, really want to do better. Then gradually start weening off of 1 thing at a time. Your health is something you can control. And then you have to know you can get past the bump in the road. Make sure you pray and get a counselor who can hold you accountable. Also, its good to find an inexpensive hobby to keep your mind focused on other things. It's hard, but it's a behavior you can change gradually.

    Anthem BCBS

@@Tashagirlxo, not sure about this one because every insurance company and policy is different. I have BCBS of Michigan and I live in Georgia. The company I work for corporate office is in Michigan. They required 6 months nutritional visits with a nutritionist, PFT, chest X-ray, EKG, Certification/Letter of Support from PCP. I'm not done with all of my requirements, I have 2 more nutritional visits to go, but I'm going to try to get my PCP to submit my info this week. My surgeon is trying to get me to get it done before the end of the year, which I agree because I would have to reach my deductible all over again if it goes into next year. However, I read on a post on BP that mentioned that they got approved for their surgery and they were on their 4 month visit. I also read on here where someone got approved just by using Weight Watchers online. I didn't even know that counted...Hope this helps. Crossing my fingers for you...
