No you're being realistic. Don't worry. I know I'd feel that way too. But just focus on what's important and kill the negative vibes! :-) I'm still waiting for my visa appointment for the Czech which is after 12 days. It takes so long just to get an appointment with them! My birthday is on Friday 27. The plan was that I have the surgery done and enjoy celebrating with friends and wear a nice dress. None of that happened. But I don't wanna think that way and feel disappointed. I feel blessed and grateful instead for having amazing friends who are planning a surprise party for me and I will enjoy it with them and not let my misery with my weight get in the way! :-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dietitians and surgeons are humans and all graduated from different schools so of course their opinions would be different from one another. At this stage, I think following your surgeon's/dietitians advice is the best you can do. At a later advanced stage, you can educate yourself on nutrition and fitness and come up with the best plan that suits your body's needs. You know, I can follow a diet and that diet would be perfect for me and make me lose weight, however, it might not work for my sister. In the end, asking for help and advice from the experts is of course beneficial but I (myself) wouldn't rely on their advice all my life. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've been waiting since two weeks for my appointment with the Czech visa and it was today. Shockingly, my phone decided to break and my alarm not to work and I missed my appointment today + 148 pounds flight non refundable + 18 pounds non refundable train tickets... Wow. Is God or the universe trying to tell me something? It's depressing and funny at the same time lol! I have to wait now another two weeks for an appointment. And Thanks I checked Lithuania. I still didn't have surgery. But obesity runs in my family and more than ten members in my family have undergone the surgery and they are all doing well now. Sure, willpower is needed and you should be committed to follow a healthy lifestyle but you WILL loose A LOT of weight and won't be obese anymore so don't worry about it. I actually had a dream a few hours ago. I woke up disturbed. I dreamed that I was at the clinic alone to have the surgery and then I started to freak out like crazy and when the surgeon came they told him that I needed to stay calm then he was like no don't worry we'll just do anesthesia now and he injected me using blood? Lol Then I was slowly passing out and my last words were "Please don't leave me alone. Please take care of me. Mom. Dad." Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The embassy delayed my visa then refused it. So along with being extremely disappointed and depressed that I didn't have the surgery that I was 100% ready for, I also lost around 216 pounds for the train and another 74 for the visa fees :-( And believe me, as a student who isn't working, it's a lot of money to lose.
