Hi all. On 4/19 had band removed and bypass. Took about five days for gas pain to go away, after that not much pain thankfully. Hope you are all doing well:)

Hi @@QO_1, I'm also a revision from lapband to RNY. My surgery is scheduled for next Friday the 6th. I'm so excited to be done but also very nervous. Good luck to you and let me know how everything goes for you!!!

This is day 5 of pre-op liquid diet and still doing good. No more headaches. Not really hungry but now understand what "head hunger" is. Saw a pizza delivery guy on way home from work yesterday and thought OMG how I'd love to have pizza, but then asked myself if I was really hungry and the answer was no. It's just habit that we want foods we love whether hungry or not. I actually think now that this 2 week preparation is good for me to get in the right mindset. May 10th will be here before I know it!

Priscilla,
I only have Clear liquids the day before surgery. I consider myself very lucky, I feel for everyone on the two weeks or more. When is your surgery scheduled?? Mine is May 6th.

@@Doc'sWife Wow I guess there are more people than I thought going through this. I have a lot of anxiety about this just because the lap band didn't work out for me but at the same time I can't wait to start this new life. I'm going to put everything I have into making this work for me. Good luck to you and we should definitely keep in touch, I would love to have someone to talk to that knows what I'm going through.

Glad to share same path with you two. There are definitely more out there like us, i was very happy to find out I was not alone.
I am supposed to start liquid diet on Thursday, not looking forward to it but needs to be done. I am also nervous, I will be having 3 in one surgeries, removal, bypass and gallbladder removal, so hope it all goes well and in one and without complications. Will update

I finally got a surgery date. After taking classes from June 2015 to September 2015 I couldn't get surgery because my glucose A-1 C was too high and as of today I finally got a surgery date 05/26/2016 yay!!!
Is there any others scheduled in May

Hi Nicki, I'm having revision from lapband to bypass and I can tell you, I wish I would have just gone with the bypass to begin with. For me, the gas pains from having the lapband was terrible and I'm not looking forward to that again and the lapband didn't work at all for me. I do have a sweet tooth so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I dump to keep me away from those foods, not that I'm even thinking of having those things anytime soon after my surgery. Ultimately the choice is yours and you have to do what makes you feel comfortable. Good luck in your journey!!! Heather

You are definitely not alone!!! I feel the exact same way you do. I've had nothing but problems with my band also and I have a fear of failing at the rny too. My surgery is scheduled for May 6th so can't really help out with some of your questions but for me it really helps knowing that we aren't alone in this journey. Just to know that someone else knows what I'm going through helps me out a lot. If you ever want to talk just private message me. Good luck to you and keep us updated on everything!!!
