  1. Even the same insurance company has different plans and contracts within in. My mom has BCBS and I have BCBS. Her plan will not cover anything weight loss related and mine covers the entire process. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Nobody here knows your insurance requirements. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. You never know why someone else had complications. The facts remain that the risk for this surgery is very low when you do what you're supposed to do. As others have stated, you're more in danger driving to and from work every day. That being said, it is a risk. Only you can decide if it's worth it or not. 4. Every surgeon has their own requirements. Mine has a strict no gain policy during the supervised diet. They overlook 1-2lb differences, especially in the winter, due to clothing but I would think 5 or more pounds would be an issue. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Exercise pre-op?

I have been lifting weights and doing light cardio to get my body out of couch potato mode. I want to be as healthy as I can be on surgery day and prepare myself for an active lifestyle after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. The sleeve is a tool that you're going to use to lose as much weight as you're willing to work for. There is no magical formula inside of the sleeve that says you're only going to lose 70 pounds. That's ridiculous and I'm personally upset that was said by a "professional." The game doesn't change... Weight loss is still going to be about eating less than you burn. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Chewable Vitamins

My packet says to start Vitamins as soon as I get home my program recommends the chewable vitamins for at least a month. My place has their own line of vitamins and protein- called Journey- and they just reformed their vitamins to be capsules that can be opened. I wasn't sure how I would tolerate chewing the fruity vitamins, so now I'll be able to just open the capsule and sprinkle the Vitamin into whatever Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Blood Clots!

I haven't had my surgery yet either. I was asking if they've mentioned blood thinners to you because I wasn't sure if everyone goes home on them or not- kinda like the pre-op diet debate, it may only be some surgeons that do that. Also, did I read correctly that you're wanting to be back to work "before 10 weeks" ? It shouldn't be close to that unless you have complications, right? Blood Clots!

Are they sending you home on a blood thinner? I'll have to give myself injections every day for a week after I go home. Physical activity and plenty of hydration along with following all doctors orders is really all you can do once you're home. If anything feels weird, call the doctor. 14. If you've been on the pre-op for a week and you've lost 5 pounds... That means you've cut 17,500 calories over the past week. It is pretty difficult to lose 5lbs in a week, especially if you aren't counting calories (as you said). Keep that in perspective and don't lose hope. You're doing fine and you have control over your own success! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Yass! thank you so much! Officially submitted this AM and have a tentative date for 4/20! congrats to your approval and surgery date!! Are you nervous? Congrats to you as well! When is your surgery date? thank you! March 30! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
